First Game Of The Season

We record our first loss in the league cup.

We put up a good fight against a good team. We lost 2 out of 3 doubles matches, where last season we were dominant at, we just failed to put any pressure on them at key times.

The only doubles win came with brother duo, Gavin and Anthony where they blew away there opposition with big scores and a tidy finish.

We won the next 3 out of 4 singles matches.

We started with Graham, where he carried on his good form from last season whilst hitting a 180.

Then we had Gavin who also continued his form from last season and got the win.

The next win come from Andy Wood, who scraped the win in a match where neither player could finish.

We also had a debutant in Paul Widdowson, who fought a hard battle, but just wasn't able to get across the line.

We lost 5-4, but with a loss in the first round in the league cup. This puts us in the draw for the subsidiary cup.

Match Report Presented By Mill St Kitchen Leek

Monday, we had our first league match of the new year.

We played Fountain 1 at home. This match really defined what we're about. We started off with Wayne Thomas and Dave Payne on doubles, safe to say they smashed it. From the first dart to the last the lads were in control, this is the start we needed to be able to stamp our authority on the match.

Next up we had Tom Gaskell and Bradley Knight. We struggled to push on from our first win and lose the match, both sets of players went down to the double, its just we were unable to find the cutting edge to win.

Our last doubles we had Gavin Knight and Anthony Knight. In this match we absolutely blitzed them as Gavin and Ant, kept hitting high scores which made any effort by the opposition pointless.

Now on to our singles matches.

First we had Jack Morton, he played great it was just his lack of conviction that lost him the match.

Next we had Graham Knight he was looking to continue his amazing form. He put up a great fight but he just didn't have enough to go over the finish line.

Third we had Dave Payne, looking to turn his form the other way, with a win tonight. From the get go he played some great darts, there was no chance he was going to lose.

Next up we had Wayne Thomas. A win in this game would put us in a good spot to get the much deserved win. Wayne played with freedom and showed he knew how to get a win when most needed.

Fifth up was Gavin Knight. This game was a must win, if we win this match we win the fixture. To start things off Gavin starts hitting heavy scores and puts himself miles ahead, it was when Gavin hit his 180 the result didn't look in doubt.

Last up was Bradley Knight. This match was key to help us get an extra point on the board as the result was cemented. Brad played some great darts, regardless of the circumstances. His opposition couldn't touch him from start to finish Brad was ahead and the match finished 2-0 in legs. The fixture ended 6-3 and leaves us a point behind 3rd place

Honourable Mentions

Gavin Knight hitting a 180

Bradley Knight continues his Winning form

Dave Payne for ending his losing streak with a fantastic win

Match Report Presented By Mill St Kitchen Leek

The last match before the Christmas break, we went to The HollyBush Brown edge.

Before a dart was thrown we were, three players down so acting rapidly we had to sign a new player.

Starting off this match we had today's captains Gavin and Anthony Knight on first. After a shakey start the lads were able to hit a few big scores, they were able to make it light work and get us off with a win.

Next off we had Tom gaskell and new signing Lucy Eagle. After a good showing we didn't have the cutting edge to finish the match. Next up we had Bradley Knight and Jack Morton, it was the same story as our last doubles we showed promise but just wasn't able to finish it off.

Now on to singles we had Lucy up first. In both legs, she came so close to winning but just has she was down to a single dart checkout her opposition checked out.

Second up we had Anthony, in this match Anthony were unlucky not to get anything from it.

At this point we were 4-1 down, things aren't looking good. Gavin stepped up, even though he were very inconsistent he was able to get a 2-0 win.

After the win we hoped we could turn this fixture around. Both Tom and Brad lost their singles after both matches coming down to the wire.

Last up we had Jack, he played some great darts and the match never looked in doubt. Jack was able to get us the win and get us a vital point which could mean a lot when the season comes to a close.

Honourable mentions

We would like to thank Lucy for stepping up and playing her first ever darts match. She put in a real good performance, she showed she was more than capable to play at this level.

We want to give a shout out to Jack Morton for showing some great form and putting in some great performances

Last of all we want to congratulate Anthony Knight, for getting the player of the month award for December.

Match Report Presentated By Mill St Kitchen Leek

Monday we played against the league favourites and unbeaten Bar 41 Milton who have started the season in top form

First up was Ant & Graham Knight who started off brilliantly and was well ahead but unfortunately couldn’t hit the double and eventually the opponents came back to claim an unlikely victory

Second up was Tommo & Dave who couldn’t get going and ended up losing their game

Last of the Doubles game was Jack and Tom who kept up with their opponents but again struggled to finish and ended up losing

This left us without a win in all three of our doubles games

On to the Singles

First up was Ant who played really well and should of comfortably won but let his opponent comeback to win

This left us in a terrible position of being 4-0 down and under severe pressure

Next up was Graham who was throwing good with some steady arrows and thankfully came through his game unscathed with a great win

4-1 down and Jack was next up, he also through very well and even with a lad walking straight in front of the oche while he was about to throw kept his head to win his game and put us back in with a chance at 4-2 down

Tom was on next to try and keep the comeback going but having played well he just couldn’t find his doubles and unfortunately got beaten meaning it was now 5-2 and we had lost the match

However there was still points and pride to play for

Dave was up playing the 5th singles game and had a chance to win but again just failed at the death and narrowly lost

Last up was the “Fans Favourite” Tommo who is flying this season only losing the first game of the season and playing the crucial last games every week

Tommo set off at a flying pace and easily brushed aside the Milton thrower with some fantastic 100+ darts and a very impressive 15 dart leg 🎯 to comfortably win the game

Overall a great effort by the team with some good darts thrown but we came up short and lost 6-3

Match Report Presented By Mill St Kitchen Leek

This week we played Benks 1, a replay of the division 4 cup final. We went there to continue to put pressure on Benks 4, who were in top spot before this week's match.

We started the tie, with brother duo Gavin Knight and Anthony Knight. Gavin started off with a 180, from then on they just obliterated their opposition.

Next up we had Dave Payne and Wayne Thomas. They both lacked the cutting edge and was unable to win, it was the same story for Graham Knight and Tom Gaskell they both lacked the special something and before we knew it we was 2-1 down.

First singles came and we started off with Anthony Knight. All things looked promising when he hit a 101 checkout in the first leg. He was unable to finish off the match and no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't get his last double and lost 2-1

Second singles we had Bradley Knight. From the first dart thrown he was steady, even though at points it was tight, the result never really looked in doubt.

Next up was Gavin Knight. from the start Gavin did not hit big scores like he used to, but he was able to hit crucial trebles when he had to, and was able to win the match. This put us 3-3 on points, with us only needing 2 more points we had Jack Morton. This match was even and went down to both players needing doubles. Jack eventually won the game and with two matches left, we only needed to win one more.

We had Dave Payne. From the get go Dave just couldn't get out of first gear and really was unable to get the result. He was able to hit a few trebles in the match, but it was his finishing that let him down.

Last up we had Wayne Thomas, he found himself in a last match decider. after going one up he got rattled in the second, the when it came down to the last leg he managed to find character to win the match. that meant we had won 5-4.

Honours

Gavin Knight: He hit a 180 score in his doubles

Antony Knight: He was able to hit a 101 checkout in is singles match and continues to show some steady progress.

Bradley Knight: continues his great form winning another match.

Jack Morton: He continues to go under the radar, as he wins another game

Last of all we want to congratulate our new player of the month Wayne Thomas. he has had a great month winning all his singles and checking out a great 108 in of them. We hope he can continue this great form, and hope he can replicate the month of November.

Match Presented By Mill St Kitchen Leek

After having a BYE in the league we looked to getting our first home win, we played Valiant 2 who the season before got relegated, and who are fighting to bounce back up.

We started the night off with the merit winning duo Gavin Knight and Anthony Knight. They got us off with the first point with a fantastic performance, where Gavin finished with a 110 checkout.

Next up we had Wayne Thomas and Dave Payne. They looked to continue their great form, the match came close but they were unable to finish, the opposition capitalised on their mistakes and came out winners.

Last doubles we had Jack Morton and Graham Knight, this game was hard to watch as it seemed that none of the pairs wanted to win it. Luckily Graham stepped up and checked out, it left us going into singles 2-1 up.

Anthony Knight stepped up, after having a shakey start, he manged to find his opening and he didn't look back and got us the win. Dave played next even though, him playing some great darts he was not able to win.

Tom Gaskell came next looking to stop the rot, but yet again he was not able to get the win. That meant we needed to win two out of the next three matches.

Gavin came looking to get back to winning ways, after losing his last singles match. From the moment he stepped up, the result never looked in doubt as he just kept hitting the big scores. he won his match 2-0.

Graham met his match, Graham started off very shakey and lost the first leg, he managed to claw a leg back with a steady performance. When it came down to the last double e was not able to finish, and his opponent came out with the win.

This left the match in Wayne's hands, he didn't let the occasion get the better of him. He was able to control the tempo of the match and use it to obliterate.

We won the fixture 5-4 and register our first home win of the season.

Match Report Presented By Mill St Kitchen Leek

Monday we went up against Britannia 3 in the league. We started off with a poor start losing two out of three, the come back started on our last doubles, when Wayne Thomas and Dave Payne won their doubles.

We started off our single matches with Ant Knight. He was able to sweep aside his opposition with some ease. Next come Bradley Knight this match was an interesting match-up, as Bradley decided not to go for the conventual checkouts, he decided to play around the board but some how, it worked and was able to win the match.

Next come Gavin Knight this is where we had a blip, he was not able to win his match. Credit to L. Brough as he capitalised on a poor performance from our Player Of The Month.

The winning continued as Graham Knight managed to get his first singles win, he had a shakey start, but was able to get over it very quick and win his match.

Dave was able to continue his fine form, he easily dismantled his opponent, the result never looked in doubt. Now it was time for the fan favourite to step up, Wayne Thomas steam rolled his competitor, he must of hit a treble with every throw because he gave no one no chance. He finished the match with a very nice 108 checkout.

The match finished 6-3, our next match will be on 21.11.2022 against The Valiant 2.

Player Of The Month Presented By Mill St Kitchen Leek

After much conversation with the two captains, they have decided that it goes to....

Gavin Knight.

After having a great month of darts, and becoming unbeaten individually. It was hard not to give him this award. During the month he checked out a 130 and a 98, he barely threw a dart wrong.

We have to say it was a tough call, as both Dave Payne and Tom Gaskell both played amazing during this month.

Dave has shown the team what he is capable of, you wouldn't think this was his first competitive season. he has won some matches where he seemed out of it.

Tom just fell short of this award, Tom as shown that when the pressure is on he can pull the team through. he was on last against Bodgers, the score was 4-4 we needed to win, he was able to dig deep and get the win.

This is why he deserves the recognition as without that win the match would of been lost.

Again we would like to congratulate Gavin, lets hope he can continue to perform wen needed.

Dog & Rot Match Report Proudly Presented By Mill St Kitchen Leek

Monday was our first league defeat, to a resilient Benks 4 team.

We began proceedings with a loss in the first doubles but quickly turned it around with an outstanding performance from father son duo Graham Knight and son Gavin

They hit high score after high score as they brushed their opposition aside.

Then come our second doubles of the night where Anthony and Bradley Knight stepped up and comfortably won their match as they put in a steady performance.

To start our single matches we had Gavin Knight, he pulled off a binder winning 2-0, the result never looked in doubt as he looked to keep his individual unbeaten record going.

Next came our next lot of singles where we just came short with Anthony Knight Dave Payne Jack Morton and Tom Gaskell all falling short.

Each of these matches could of gone either way, it was that close but fortune favoured them as they won all them matches.

Last up we have Wayne Thomas, at this point we had lost the fixture but still had a vital point to go out and win.

He didn't make it easy for himself, after going 1-0 down he showed grit and determination. He managed to come back and win his match 2-1.

The match ended 5-4 to Benks 4

Honourable mentions

Gavin Knight Kept his high checkouts going with a 98.

Bradley Knight played great, after coming back from a painful shoulder injury that stopped him from playing the whole summer.

25/10/2022

The season started with a league cup match against Blue Mugge 2. In which we lost 8-1, the score line flattered them as almost every game came down to a decider.

Considering they are in division 2 and we're in division 4, we put up a good fight, the only win came from Gavin Knight.

We want to congratulate Blue Mugge 2 and wish them best in the next round of the cup.

On Monday 24th, we played our first league match where we played Bodgers 2. We started off strong in our doubles and won 2 out of 3, but they came back into the match and left us level pe***ng.

It took an amazing performance from Dave Payne to Blitz his opposition. It didn't stop there with Gavin Knight, hitting a magnificent 130 finish.

The match came down to the decider winner takes all. Tom Gaskell steps up and goes 1 up, the game gets a leveller when Tom fails to hit his double to win the match 2-0.

Against all odds Tom wins the match, and we come out as overall winners.

Our next fixture on the 31st is against Benks 4 at home, where we look to carry on our great start in the league.
