Feel The Thunder ⛈️⚡️

We love to see how our horses are doing in their new homes 😍

This was a very complicated little horse with a HUGE heart!

2 years on he’s finally mastering a bit of low level dressage with his owner Tracey.

Diablo (stable name) has helped Tracey in many ways with her health battles. He’s her reason to get up in a morning, he’s the reason she continues to ride even though I’m sure most days she would rather not. These animals are our therapy and our lives and we are committed to finding them that forever home.

Please share your pictures of our past horses ❤️🐎

Little poem about A pint of Bears incredible come back story . Ai might have helped a touch. 😂

A pint of Bear, a name so q***r,
Emerged from Doncaster's atmosphere,
Twice he broke the sales ring's hold,
A spirit wild, a tale to be told.

Hard to tame, a fiery steed,
With racing blood of noble breed,
Still entire, his trainers found,
A gelding's calm would soon resound.

From the crowd, a call did rise,
Joe's voice, with hope that never dies,
His first share in a racing dream,
A slice of glory, a star's bright beam.

At Southwell's course, his home, his heart,
A pint of Bear would play his part,
On second start, the fates aligned,
A champion's pace, a winner’s mind.

Joe, the student, far away,
In Edinburgh's embrace would stay,
Would walk the streets in quiet cheer,
A victory's memory to hold dear.

Upon a bench, alone, serene,
Reflecting on the racing scene,
A pint of Bear's triumphant dash,
A moment's thrill, a lightning flash.

At Catterick, he'd shine again,
And at Goodwood, a noble second's claim,
But fate, it seems, can twist and turn,
At York, his story took a stern.

The favorite fell, a collective gasp,
It seemed their dreams within their grasp,
But vets with hands both firm and kind,
Would save his life, a hope to find.

Then came the days, the rehab's hold,
With Gemma Vernon, heart of gold,
Her team of love, their ceaseless toil,
Worked the earth like the richest soil.

Within their care, he found his breath,
Through pain and patience, they cheated death,
Their dedication, a tireless theme,
Mended the cracks in the shattered dream.

Months turned to years, their love never waned,
Through storms and trials, their spirits remained,
And A pint of Bear, with each new dawn,
Grew stronger, bolder, and carried on.

Then Lingfield called, under floodlit skies,
A test of will, where the challenge lies,
A pint of Bear, with Gemma's touch,
Proved to the world he still had much.

The crowd erupted as he crossed the line,
A comeback tale, almost divine,
The Racing Post and Mirror, they detailed his fate,
His story loved, his triumph great.

His tale of triumph, of will, of might,
Was shared in homes through day and night,
A pint of Bear, the horse they adored,
Whose legend grew with each award.

So let us toast to the team's embrace,
To Joe, whose dream never left the race,
To A pint of Bear, whose tale we've spun,
Of darkness passed and victories won.

Raise your glass to the tale that's scribed,
To hearts that heal and spirits revived,
A pint of Bear, a tale to sing,
Of loss, of love, of conquering.

🏇 HORSE OF THE WEEK 🏇

Crosse fire is a Southwell Legend and gave his owners many fabulous days at the races. His photograph is now situated in the pantry at Southwell. Daniel Bembridge was Crosse Fires best friend at the yard and Daniel put lots of time and effort into making him the horse that he became! He was definitely not straight forward.

It was only fitting that Crosse Fire is spending his life outside of racing with Daniel and his wife Samantha Bembridge

"Big thanks to Scott Dixon Racing for letting me rehome Crosse Fire aka Knobby, he will always be my boy...a joy to ride whilst I worked there and now in his retirement 🐎😊Daniel Bembridge "

Optimickstickhill also known as Sally was bred by Yvette Dixon at Haygarth house and is sired by Yvette and Paul's stallion Milk It Mick who stands at Norton Grove and won two races on the turf before the decision was made that it was time for Sally to move on to the next chapter of her life.

Sally was rehomed in 2018 by Amy Richards and has had the most exciting life since.

"I got sally in December 2018 as I was looking for a new Horseboarding team horse. I couldn’t have found a more perfect horse for the job I was wanting to train her for.
I have done all her training myself. I’ve trained her to elite level in Horseboarding and now cracking on with some showjumping.
Horseboarding is quite a technical sport where sally has had to get use to towing a mountain board with a person on behind her at controllable speeds round a twisting turning track. Mainly on grass but occasionally on a surface. She has excelled in this discipline and proved herself to be one of the fastest capable horses in the competitions.
I plan to do some low level showjumping as long side my Horseboarding season this year with her. And with how she’s taken to everything else I’ve thrown at her she will be like a duck to water." Amy Richards
