Parent: “What age is appropriate to start teaching children about boundaries and consent?”

Me: As soon as the child starts speaking, he or she can start learning the lingo and verbiage associated with boundaries. We can do this by reading them fun picture books.

Parent: “What age group are your books for?”

Me: I’ve written them for all ages to enjoy. My main audience is 4-10 year olds but the adults in their lives enjoy reading them too as I’ve been told they are witty and serve as reminders. If a person has not been taught or learned a particular behavior or skill, then there is no age limit for my books.

Kang and I used to argue a lot. We mentioned divorce many times early in our marriage.

Sometimes, it’s hard for me to be a patient parent. I get upset too quickly and sometimes am too harsh. During these parenting moments, I fail.

I fail a lot and am so used to failing, now I joke that it’s my job. One thing I’ve learned is that I learn by trial and error. I’m used to dusting off my pants, getting back up and trying again. I’m an expert at that.
