𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?
Preposition is a word that is used to link noun or pronoun with other words in the sentence.
Link means it provides relationship between noun and other words in the sentence and thus makes the sentence complete. These other words may be noun, verb or adjective.
Let’s understand it with an example.
The cat is sitting on the table. Here, on is used to link table which is a noun and sitting placement of cat. And hence on is a preposition here.
Depending on the usage in sentence, Preposition are divided into three types:
𝟭. 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲.
𝟮. 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲
𝟯. 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Preposition that describes when an event occurred are 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲.
In this lesson, I'm going to give you some tips on 'Prepositions of Time' (𝗢𝗡, 𝗜𝗡, 𝗔𝗧), followed by exercises to help you to assimilate and remember them. Make sure you repeat the gap-filling exercises several times until you can choose the correct preposition without any hesitation.
