Last day of our 3rd project✨

PASS AID: A Facebook Campaign Promoting the Basics in First Aid Response

First Aid for Minor wounds
(Infographic)

A wound is any type of injury that breaks the skin, and severity can range from a small cut to a deep puncture wound. To prevent infection and promote healing, all wounds need care.

A scrape (abrasion) is when the surface of the skin is injured on a hard or rough surface, causing the skin to ooze and, often, bleed. A cut has a clean edge, while a tear has a jagged edge. Both cuts and tears (lacerations) can affect deep tissues (eg, muscles, tendons, and nerves) and are likely to bleed.

DAY 6✨

PASS AID: A Facebook Campaign Promoting the Basics in First Aid Response

First Aid for Head Injuries
(Infographic)

A head injury is any trauma to the scalp, skull, or brain. The injury may be only a minor bump on the skull or a serious brain injury.
Head injury can be either closed or open (penetrating).

A closed head injury means you received a hard blow to the head from striking an object, but the object did not break the skull.
An open, or penetrating, head injury means you were hit with an object that broke the skull and entered the brain. This is more likely to happen when you move at high speed, such as going through the windshield during a car accident. It can also happen from a gunshot to the head.

DAY 5✨

PASS AID: A Facebook Campaign Promoting the Basics in First Aid Response

First Aid for Burns
(Infographic)

Burns are a type of painful wound caused by thermal, electrical, chemical, or electromagnetic energy. Smoking and open flame are the leading causes of burn injury for older adults. Scalding is the leading cause of burn injury for children. Both infants and the older adults are at the greatest risk for burn injury.

DAY 4 ✨

PASS AID: A Facebook Campaign Promoting the Basics in First Aid Response

First Aid for Fractures
(Infographic)

A break or crack in a bone is called a FRACTURE. In the case of an open fracture, the broken bone may pierce the skin surface. But in a closed fracture the skin around the fracture is intact. However, broken bones may be unstable causing internal bleeding and the casualty may develop shock.

PASS AID: A Facebook Campaign Promoting the Basics in First Aid Response

Ano nga ba ang dapat gawin kung may taong nabubulunan at humihingi ng tulong?
(Video Demonstration on infants by Ms. Sheryl and on adults by Mr. Jessy James)

Choking occurs when a foreign object lodges in the throat or windpipe, blocking the flow of air. In adults, a piece of food often is the culprit. Young children often swallow small objects. Because choking cuts off oxygen to the brain, give first aid as quickly as possible.

How’s your week going, Iki-guys? 🤍

As promised, there’s more! ✨

We, Team Ikigai is now on our 2nd Community Project entitled “MANNAtiling Malusog: A 3-Month Feeding Program for Undernourished Children.”

Malnutrition has been one of the major issues in the country. It is a condition in which a person goes without food for an extended period of time. Poverty, on the other hand, aggravates the condition by preventing a person from receiving adequate nutrition.

Hence, this community project aims to help 200 unprivileged children of Purok Masigasig, Brgy. Gulang-Gulang, Lucena City. Through this feeding program, the team can provide these children with additional nourishment by feeding them Mannapack Rice, loaded with B vitamins and vitamins A, C, and D. This will ensure that the children receive the nutrition they need, as well as aid in their physical development.

All in all, our team’s main goal is to reduce the number of undernourished children in the community. In collaboration with the Rotary Club of Lucena North, this feeding program will be set three (3) times a week for three (3) months, starting on February 12 to May 2022.

See you there, kids! 🤍

++ Hang on, Iki-guys! Few more projects to go! ✨
