On 9/11 we were viciously attacked by terrorists with an ideology to destroy our nation.

On 9/12 we were united as a nation shoulder to shoulder standing together to defend our nation.

Let us never forget the victims of 9/11 and those that have died protecting our nation.

Let us also pray to God to peacefully unify our country once again as One Nation Under God.

No matter how you paint it, history has demonstrated that socialism and communism are oppressive.

If you have teenagers in your life please check on their mental well being. This research points out the recent spike of teenage girls going to the emergency room when they are in a mental health crisis. But it’s not just girls who are dealing with depression.

Mental health is a crisis that is only getting worse and unfortunately not being addressed for the crisis it is. Law enforcement routinely addresses su***des, su***de attempts, and those that are in a mental health crisis. We have created behavioral health teams made up of deputies, mental health providers, and community groups to create a positive outcome.

We recognize that mental health is a healthcare issue and needs to be addressed as such. Law enforcement should be there to make sure the situation is safe for the healthcare providers to assist the person in need. We are making progress but the issue continues to grow.

Social media is probably one of the biggest contributors to the dilemma we are facing as it contributes to negativity and feelings of being isolated. Time away from the cell phones will help teens (and all of us too).

If you know someone who needs help please assist them with the limited resources out there.

Prayer and spending positive time with teens will go a long way to a positive outlook of life.

On this June 19th, as we commemorate Juneteenth and the freedom of the last slaves in Galveston, Texas, remember that we serve a great God who created all of us in His image and likeness to show respect and kindness to each other and for all to have freedom and opportunity to succeed.

Let us remember our fellow Americans and Floridians that were killed at the Pulse Nightclub 5 years ago by a terrorist. Please pray for their families.

When faced against the worst enemy of the time, heroes overcame their fear and bravely stormed the beach of Normandy to free Europe from tyranny.

Let the bravery of these Americans and Allied forces be a lesson taught to the next generation.

Today we remember the life of Captain Bo Harrison who was killed in the line of duty June 1st, 2003.

May his life and smile be a reminder to us all that life is precious and that the positive impact we make on another’s life is everlasting.

As we wake up tomorrow for Memorial Day, please take a moment to pray for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms, those that still suffer from physical or psychological injuries and for their families that have given so much.

Also, please take some time to explain to the next generation what this day is truly about. That it took brave women and men to provide us our freedom that we enjoy, and that their sacrifice should be honored by all, who are protected by it, everyday.
