We are currently working with a number of families across Daventry district where the parents of our most vulnerable children are struggling to provide clothes for their children.

We are on a mission to provide pre loved clothes which will make a difference to their lives. If you have any clothes that your young children/teenagers (age 5 plus and mainly boys) no longer wear please consider donating them to these children.

Drop off point is at Daventry Police Station Monday to Friday 10-4.

Thank you 😊

Good afternoon everyone. As you will see the page has been a bit quiet lately. Now that the worst of the pandemic seems to be over and the people who run this page are back to working full time we have made the decision that this year we will not be able to take in donations. This doesn’t mean that we won’t in the future. Massive thank you to the ladies who have supported this in the last year and to all you who donated and received from it. Thank you also to Daventry police station for accommodating us. We will keep the group open in case we have to use it again. Fingers crossed we don’t!! 🥰🥰

14/06/2021

Good morning, as you will have the seen the page has been quiet for a while now. As things have started to reopen we are trying to work out how best we can help the community. We are looking for suggestions as to what we can do to help. In the meantime if you are in need of items please do get in touch 😁😁

Morning! Dropped the first car full of donations over to the family who lost everything in the house fire. They are incredibly grateful and asked me to pass on their thanks. They are currently sorting through the items that have been donated and will update us next week with what’s needed! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. 🥰🥰

Good afternoon, we are currently supporting a young lady who is in need of some clothes. Ladies size 10/12. If you have any items that might suit a young person please can you bring them to Daventry station between 10-4 thanks

Timeline photos 09/04/2021

Firstly can we take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to you all. It’s safe to say that we honestly couldn’t have done what we have done in the last year without the help and support of the generous community. With your donations we have been able to support over 200 families with clothes, toys, books, games, toiletries and even small kitchen appliances.

However with that in mind the time has come for us to close our doors on the scheme for any further donations. As the government is now on the road map to reopening non essential shops next week and we return to normality we will wind the scheme down.

The library and the toys will stay out the front of the station so please come in and help yourself. The page will remain open for anyone who is in need and we will happily put appeals out for items. We currently have a large amount of baby items in and the smaller size clothes which we will put up on another post.

So thanks again. Daventry you are amazing!!

Sure by how we have all heard the news from the prime minister. This is a reminder that the project is still running, we just took a small break over Christmas. We are here to support the families and people of Daventry with clothing, toys, games, books, food and toiletries. You can drop us a message and we will sort a package of items for you to collect during your daily exercise. There is no need to struggle, there is support there for you. Take care and stay safe 🥰🥰

We have some food items, clothing, toys and gifts if anyone is struggling. Just drop an inbox message we we will see what we can do for you.

You are not alone. We are a community and we will get through this 🥰💪🏻

This week we decided to help those further afield by donating summer clothes and shoes to these children in Uganda! I want to share this humble photo with you all.

23/11/2020

Thank you!!! Thank you!! Thank you!! You’re all wonderful 🥰🥰

23/11/2020

Good morning, just wanted to let all you kind people know that due to your generosity we are now closed to all donations except for those listed in the photo.

Im sure many of you at this time of year would have been preparing for nights out and Christmas parties, just wondering if any of you could spare a small amount for someone who is struggling this year or living in refuge?

We have 299 likes on this page so imagine the good we could do if every purchased just 1 extra item when they went Christmas shopping!!

31/10/2020

Good morning to all the new likers of the page. For those that don’t know, let me tell you a bit about the project. It started at the beginning of lockdown when the shops were closed and people were unable get clothes for growing children. Since then we have gone on to help hundreds of families with clothes, games, books and toiletries.

It’s located at Daventry police station so a central location where we are open 10-4 Monday to Saturday with no need to make an appointment.

It’s a simple process. You drop us an inbox message asking which children’s or adults clothes you need and we message you back if we have them. If not then we send an appeal out asking for those sizes. The items are bought to us, quarantined and then distributed to where they are needed.

There’s no charge and because it’s all done by private inbox there’s no need to publicly announce who is receiving the donation.

There are always toys and games available in the front reception area.

We only ask you to follow some simple basic manners. Don’t take more than you need, we want to help as many families as we can. The police station is dealing with other members of the public during your visit so please be respectful of that.

Some people have asked about making monetary donations for the items they are taking, could we ask that if you wanted to donate you bring in good quality items that your children no longer use or play with, alternatively could you bring in non perishable food items with a date of at least January 2021 so that we can keep the scheme running, we honestly can’t do it without you!

Unfortunately we cannot accept travel systems, car seats or footwear. We are also not connected to the police station, other than using the facilities so please don’t inbox us about police matters.

Thank you for reading this long post!!

26/10/2020

No need to be bored this half term, there are lots of toys and books at Daventry police station to keep the children occupied. Open 10-4 Monday to Saturday, all we ask is that you only take what you in need in the spirit of the scheme and that you remember this is a working police station. Thanks!!

02/09/2020

Good morning to you all. I’m sorry to start the day with such negative news but it has been bought to our attention that some members of the page have been collecting items from the Daventry community care project and then selling them on for profit. This has really saddened the admins as the point of the project was to assist people who were in need for whatever reason and create a community of giving. We have been made aware also that these same people are collecting free items from other social media sites and apps and selling those at profit too. While this is not illegal it certainly undermines the spirit of the group. Thank you to all those who have given and received items. Rest assured those people who have been caught our are now gone from the group. Keep positive you generous people of Daventry xx

Daventry District Council - Furniture Hub 05/08/2020

We have had a number of enquiries about us being able to take large furniture items. Unfortunately we do not have the space to take them but we do know that the council run a fantastic scheme to help those who need items. You can get I touch with them on this email address. The items are used for people who may be coming out of homelessness or refuge.

Another donation going out to a lady who has a 3 month old baby and needs assistance. It’s great to be working along side the Daventry breast feeding group in supporting this family ☺️☺️

30/07/2020

Morning!!! Just added some toys to the library area. Pop up and take a look, Daventry police station open 10-4 Monday to Saturday. We have a bundle of GCSE guides out there and still have plenty of bags of clothing. **more being added daily**

24/07/2020

Quick update, since launch at the start of this week we have managed to provide 16 families with vital clothing items. We are now able to start taking donations again. We will take good quality clothing, toys, games and toiletries.

We are currently UNABLE to take books and will no longer be taking shoes of underwear.

Donations can be dropped at Daventry police station between 10-3.30 Monday to Saturday where they will be quarantined and processed.

Gentle reminder that the whole point of the scheme is to help out people who are struggling due to financial stress, circumstance and not being able to source items during lockdown, this is not a scheme to fill your wardrobe!
