Creating Inner Beauty

Over the last few weeks, my husband and I have been trying to do some landscaping and I decided to plant flowers on the side of our house to liven things up with some pops of color.

I'm a total newbie to gardening so I chose to try out planting some zinnia seeds because they love sun and are supposed to be super easy to grow. We prepared the flower bed, gave it plenty of new, fresh topsoil, and I've been diligently watering them every day (giving myself pats on the back for remembering to do it!)

And, to my delight, they grew quickly and lushly! Now, every time I go outside I am excited to see how many of them have bloomed! Each day I revel in how pretty and colorful they are. And, I love seeing all the butterflies they attract.

(Spoiler Alert: I'm going to turn this into a metaphor about your relationship with your Self and the importance of self-love ;) )

If we plant seeds in barren soil (self-criticism), with no warmth (lack of self-compassion), and forget to water them (lack of self-acceptance and self-nurturing) nothing grows and we don't get to enjoy the beauty that can blossom.

If we plant seeds in fertile soil (positivity toward ourselves), with appropriate warmth and sunlight (self-compassion) and water them regularly (self-acceptance and self-nurturance), we can enjoy a wonderful unfolding experience and, ultimately, the blossoming into something truly beautiful.

So, the important question to ask yourself is.....am I giving myself what I truly need to blossom into something beautiful? ❤

This week Ryan and I celebrated the anniversary of our First Date 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨

4 years ago we met living while living in the same complex...while I was taking out my trash 🤦‍♀️

And our first date was a long walk on the trails behind our complex.

So, we recreated our walk...starting at my old apartment door and reminiscing about what we were each thinking and feeling during that date.

And talking about what has changed since then and how much we love our life now that we have been married for almost a year. 🥳

Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been perfect and there have been some things we have had to work through individually and as a couple

But almost every day I am reminded how perfect he is for me and how much I love our relationship. 💗

❤And I know that the way I called this person and relationship into my life was by really focusing on developing my relationship with myself - self-love for the win!

❤By getting clear on what I wanted and what felt aligned with my soul (both in relationships and life in general) through spending time in reflection, meditation, and in connection with the Divine

❤By learning to listen to my intuitive nudges and surrendering my journey to the Universe

❤And most of all, by clearing out emotional and energetic blocks to love and aligning myself to call in my highest divine partner.

I trusted that the internal work I was doing was what would ultimately help me call in the perfect person for me - and it totally worked! 💯
