Pouring myself into another media lately has been a blessing in disguise, I appreciate everyone reaching out and the encouragement lately, I hope to jump to real skin soon but I need to narrow the basics first. So far here's where I'm at with the fake skins.
I'll be live painting for first Friday tomorrow at the Renaissance Hotels in downtown Phoenix
I have been painting live for them since 2018 when they gave me my first opportunity to participate in a native art market, it's there I met the family!
Thank you Irma Rosario for creating a space for local artists to show their work. I'm a creature of habit so I'll be working on my storm style rug piece as I did a while ago. π See you there ππ½

These panels were part of a bigger project that was never finished. They were sketched out already and I was debating on what I was thinking back then but I'm happy to be loose with these pieces wanted to keep the sketch look. I was playing with them earlier laughing because you can arrange them to be walking away if your mad at your significant other π

Got some art work hanging at with some other artists for this month of April, so if your at first Friday on Roosevelt, stop by to check it out. Thank you Savannah Lutman I appreciate you and definitely look forward to working with you in whatever your cooking up.
*Edit
This for me is an accomplishment to hang at Jobot ever since I was highschool, going to first Friday's before Roosevelt got renovated. Back in its previous location, I would skate there after school and browse the art houses, looking upon the many artists at the time. I'm completing a task teenage Piersten would be proud of. I wanted to show something strong that I hope other people will be encouraged to complete a small dream either now or later in life when they get the courage. I sat here and reflected on that. So thank you from the bottom of my heart lutmanππ½π

Today!!!
It is easy to mourn the lives we aren't living. Easy to wish we'd developed other talents, said yes to different offers. Easy to wish we'd worked harder, loved better, handled our finances more astutely, been more popular, stayed in the band, gone to Australia, said yes to the coffee or done more bloody yoga.
It takes no effort to miss the friends we didn't make and the work we didn't do the people we didn't do and the people we didn't marry and the children we didn't have. It is not difficult to see yourself through the lens of other people, and to wish you were all the different kaleidoscopic versions of you they wanted you to be. It is easy to regret, and keep regretting, ad infinitum, until our time runs out.
But it is not lives we regret not living that are the real problem. It is the regret itself. It's the regret that makes us shrivel and wither and feel like our own and other people's worst enemy.
We can't tell if any of those other versions would have been better or worse. Those lives are happening, it is true, but you are happening as well, and that is the happening we have to focus on. ~Matt Haig

Work In progress
Im on the final stages for this piece, touching up the the small details now, I'm loving the development it's taking, this will be for the memory show for
I took this photo I believe sometime in 2014-2015 I believe I was living in Tempe and on my way home. I just got done with a group ride and saw these two on there and we all struck a conversation. After the conversation, I asked to take a photo, they didn't know how to pose, I said it's not needed, I'd take photos to paint later in life. During that time I only painted on my days off and thinking these would be impossible to paint. Well today is later, making my own impossible thoughts possible. The finished piece will be at the show. Enjoy and have a great day.

"Oldest house in Phoenix(Adobe)"
Just dropped these two pieces off at Xico Inc - Latin & Native American Arts Organization icoinc I've been working them on and off for some time in-between my projects, my favorite one is the Hanny's piece because I usually see the place every day here in Downtown Phoenix on my walks. I took the picture myself during sunset and wanted to capture the clouds and reflecting colors as well. You can visit these piece when announces the show date when they are framed and look their best.
Happy national Code talker day!!!
First pic is a work in progress, and the rest are past works. Enjoy your day. ππ½π
In my flow, doing my best to knock out these projects on time. I literally get to wake up and breathe art. I have been reflecting and put myself in a situation where If I met my 6 year old self and he saw me today, would we be happy with how we turned out? I think so. Would your former younger self like you and how you ended up? Have a great day and happy painting
