Want to give a big thank you to everyone that participated and came to watch the derby this year! We also want to thank our sponsors Orielly auto parts, Matheson gas, Lift Solutions, John Stripe for announcing and the telehandler, Briane Johnson for singing the national anthem, all our check in people, spoters, Eesex fire Department, the ECC. Without you we couldn't do this. We look forward to seeing everyone next year!
Same payouts as last year, with an option to pay $20 at entry for a chance to be entered into a consolidated run where winner takes all.

Essex set to host free Back to School Bash this weekend (Essex) -- Essex residents are invited to a free celebration this weekend to kickoff the new school year.
Start saving up your $! The ECC is sponsoring a Pie in the Face fundraiser over Labor Day weekend. Proceeds from this contest will go toward monthly events like Trunk or Treat, Santa's Workshop etc...
The person with the LEAST amount of $ in their bucket will get a pie in the face at the start of the demolition derby.

Thanks to the great people at Matheson gas in Red Oak, every car entered in the Essex Labor Day Demolition Derby will get a chance to win this torch kit valued at $1000! So, the more cars you bring, the more chances you have at winning.
We will be having a Power Wheel derby for kids ages 4 to 9 this year! Just make sure they have a helmet and their own power wheel.

Limited weld rules
We will be running 6 classes total this year. There will be class A (Montgomery Co. Rules) limited weld, stock, and compact, and Class B ( Taylor Co rules) fullsize, compact, and van classes.

B CLASS Fullsize, compact, and van rules. (Taylor Co rules)
π All rules must be followed or you will not be allowed in
π The Essex Community Club reserves the right to refuse entry
π All decisions by officials are FINAL
π We will have fullsize, compact, and van classes.
π All FWD cars will be in the small class.
π Any RWD car over 106" will run in the big class; any under will be in small class
π All V8s will run big class.
π All classes are $50 per entry, per car
π Additional Rules π
π If a pre-ran car needs to be repaired, but will not fill out these rules - call the judge to verify repair
π No '70 or older Imperial, Su***de Lincolns, Hearse, or Limos. 4x4 cars must be repaired to only 2x4
π All drivers must be at least 16. If under 18 they must have parents consent form signed by parents or legal guardian.
π All cars will be inspected on a trailer as they come through the gate.
π No more than 2 fires, 3rd is DISQUALIFIED
πNo drivers door hits - you will be DISQUALIFIED
πOne minute to restart car and make contact - failure is DISQUALIFICATION
π No hitting care stuck on barriers. You will be pulled off barricades twice. If you are hooked to a car, you will be separated twice.

π Class B Rules π
π HALO FRAME MAY BE ADDED BUT NOT ATTACHED TO THE FRAME π
1. All cars must have glass, chrome, plastic, and exterior parts removed. If it will break off, take it off. π₯ No loose objects left in the car. Do a good job stripping cars or you will do it derby day.
2. Cars must have no less than factory seatbelts. If the belt is part of the door, use a lap belt at least. Add a belt if necessary.
3. Factory fuel tank must be removed from factory location. Choice of tank (10 Gallon MAX) will be placed in car, securely tied down and covered. No fuel line outside of car.
4. Battery must be moved inside the car, securely tied down, and covered.
5. Hoods must have 2οΈβ£ 6x6 holes in the hood
6. Must have a DOT approved helmet. If not a full face mask, eye protection is recommended.
7. Drivers air bag must be removed. All others are recommended.
8. All windshield openings will have 2οΈβ£ bars, or twisted wire for safety.
π Car Building Rules π
1. All parts must be factory, and in factory location except tank and battery. You may cut off or trim any part you see fit. All parts must be equivalent to factory or less. Choice of engine or tr**ny. Slider driveshafts are allowed. NO WEDGE CARS. You may dimple with a hammer.
2. No extra reinforcement, added weight, or metal will be added to the body unless specified.
3. Bumpers must be equivalent to factory. Bumpers, brackets, and shocks may all be welded with very limited metal to fill gaps. Bumer shocks may be collapsed and welded with 1οΈβ£ pass to secure or remove if you choose. You may also use 3/8 chain or #9 wire (doubled at most) to secure bumper to core support in 2οΈβ£ locations. New bumper bolts are allowed.
4. All doors must be secured with weld, 3/8 chain, or 3/8 bolt. No more than 12" of weld per vertical seam (with limited metal for filler). No more than 4 bolts or chain per door. Sliding van doors may use 6οΈβ£ bolts or chains, or no more than 18" of weld per vertical seam.
5. Trunks must be secured with weld (36" at most), 3/8 chain, or 3/8 bolt. No more than π bolts or chain. You may also run 2οΈβ£ 3/4 " rods through very back of trunk to keep frame and body connected. You may cut out what you want.
6. Hoods will be fastened in at least 4οΈβ£ spots with chain and rod. You may run 2οΈβ£ 3/4 rods from top of hood through core support with 4" solid support and frame. You may run 2οΈβ£ 3/4" rods through hood to firewall, but not through the frame. Leave hoods open for inspection. No thread savers, ANYWHERE. No washers bigger than 3x3" or 3" round.
7. All mounts except front 2οΈβ£ in the hood, and back 2οΈβ£ in trunk. Must be in factory location with factory bushing. You may replace bolts with no bigger than 1/2" bolts.
8. You can weld spiders in the rear-end. You may run choice of stock 5οΈβ£ bolt rear end.
9. You can remove exhaust and run through the hood.
10. You can re-route tr**ny lines to cooler in the cab with oil line. Must be tied down.
11. You can run an in-line fuel pump, or pump modified to fit in marine tank. Must be on a separate switch.
12. You can run a bar across the dash for safety. You can run a bar behind the seat. Both bars can be connected and welded, but may not contact the frame anywhere.
13. NO TRAILER HITCHES.
14. Suspension must remain stock, and move up β¬οΈ and down β¬οΈ.
15. Wheel weights and tire studs must be removed. Double tires and stem protectors are allowed. Tires must hold air.
16. You can run 2οΈβ£ strands of #9 wire from frame to frame, behind the hump.
17. You can fasten coil springs to spring buckets with 1οΈβ£ piece of wire.
