🏏 THE MACC ACADEMY U15 TOUR TO BARNARD CASTLE - OVERVIEW 🏏

A fantastic first ever tour for The MACC Academy u15s, seeing them win 3 out of their 5 fixtures against high quality opposition.

Lots learnt, friendships made and memories to cherish - it’s what the beautiful game is all about.

So proud of each and every one of them 🌟

🏏Invicta Cricket win by 2 wickets🏏

The final game of the tournament ends in a narrow defeat for the lads as Invicta chase down the total with 2 wickets to spare.

Moiz and Sam once again impressed with the bar, putting up 40 and 31 respectively whilst Evan put up a quick 22 off 15! 💪🏼

With the ball, Seb once again led the way with 3-42 whilst skipper Archie also got in the mix with 2-32.

Not the result we wanted to finish the tour with however it’s been an incredible tour nonetheless with 3 wins against Wales, Bedfordshire, and Middlesex! 👏🏾

The lads have been incredibly impressive all round, putting up big fights against strong opposition in what was the first a tournament for the MACC academy.

We couldn’t be prouder of them and we look forward to seeing them excel in their club/regional cricket for the remainder of the season! 🏏

Another convincing win for the lads as they beat Wales by a huge 118 runs. A big set of performances all round. 👏🏾

Opener Haris recorded his first 50 of the festival as well as getting a 100 run partnership with Sam who recorded 40 whilst Moiz matched his score yesterday of 45. Skipper Archie steered us to the end total with a quick 40 off 47. 💪🏼

With the ball, Seb had a day out with the ball, recording 4-31 and becoming the leading wicket taker across the tournament thus far whilst Billy, Rishab and Stanley kept the Welsh side contained! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland win by 2 wickets 🏏

A nail biting 3rd game for the lads ends in the MACC academy facing their first loss of the tournament with Scotland chasing the total with just 2 overs to spare.

Special shoutout to Stanley on his 98 which was the highest score of the game as well as his 3-35 off his 10 overs - another massive effort.

Nothing to be ashamed about for the lads as they put up a fight against an international side.

Now to rest up and focus on the next fixture against Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

🏏 TWO WINS FROM TWO 🏏

A clinical performance from the boys!

Having won the toss and elected to bat, James Wilkes with a Player of The Match 68 whilst supporting roles from Evan Morris (49*), Ellis Gwynne (33) and Haris Hussain (25) saw the Academy put on 272 off their 50 overs

With the ball, Henry Wareham (2-24) and Billy Hodges (1-16) provided the perfect start. Rishabh Krishnan (3-11) and Seb Stannell (2-7) then helped bowl the Middlesex side out for 86.

Brilliant performance and now onto a big one against Scotland. 🔥

🏏 THE MACC ACADEMY WIN!! 🏏

An amazing performance from the lads as we win our first game on tour against Bedfordshire u15s.

Stanley Newman with a player of the match performance taking 3 wickets for 2 runs and scoring a gritty 21 off 36 deliveries.

Other notable contributions: James Wilkes 31 off 27, Seb Stannell took 3 for 28 and Rishabh Krishnan with 3 for 47.

We’re proud to announce the applications for The MACC Academy Scholarship Scheme are now open! Working in partnership with organisations, the first of it’s kind, fully funded scholarship scheme is aimed to provide the necessary support for talented young cricketers from all backgrounds, enabling scholars to excel in the sport, and more importantly, in life too.

The goals of our scholarships are to:

💸Provide Financial assistance and alleviate financial barriers for promising players by providing full scholarships.

💪 Becoming a part of a comprehensive training programme under the tutelage of qualified coaches working on all cricketing skills, physical fitness, and mental resilience.

⭐Provide a pathway for players to exceed at club, county, national and international level by giving access to facilities, coaching and mentorship.

🔍To identify & develop talent - by discovering and cultivating young cricket talent from various regions

Who Can Apply?

Our scholarship programme is open to boys and girls in the UK aged 11-17, who exhibit cricketing talent and a strong desire to pursue the sport professionally. We welcome applications from across the North of England and encourage diversity and inclusivity.
