The small, one room Russell Memorial Library, dedicated on July 18, 1971, was the gift of Dr. George A. Located across the highway from the town hall on the Monkton Ridge Road (VT Route 116) the library has a history closely associated with the Russell family. We're excited to start a new library program this fall. Yoga at the Library!
Start your weekend off right with a gentle, peaceful yoga class on Saturday mornings in Monkton. Connecting meditation and movement to music, this warm and welcoming space is open to students of all ages, bodies, and abilities. Guiding movement with stillness and rest, emphasizing on pausing in the present moment, your instructor, Chris Koliander, provides an accessible class for students to practice inner reflection.
Longtime Monkton resident Chris Koliander received her 200-hour teaching certificate from Sangha Studio in Burlington and teaches yoga at BFit in Bristol. Off the mat she is a professional editor and writer and in her spare time, you’ll find her writing, reading, cooking, and walking on the back roads of Monkton!

These young readers are crushing their summer reading goals. They have completed two BINGO's on their summer reading bingo board, written a book review and are now enjoying a well deserved creemee from Cookie Love. Thank you to Cookie Love for supporting our summer reading program, along with giving these young readers motivation along the way.

We're looking forward to another night of music on the patio. Next up is EDNA. EDNA brings an experimental, post-rock edge to a lyric-less and uniquely modern musical world. Featuring Michael Chorney (Viperhouse, Freeway Clyde, Hadestown), Jeremy Frederick (Swale, Barbacoa), and Kyle Saulnier (the Awakening Orchestra, Vermont Jazz Ensemble, Saturn People’s Sound Collective) distill a full spectrum of modern music into a freewheeling sound where anything is possible at any time.
Food starts at 5:30 with Los Hermosas Taco Tent plus dessert

We finished our Community Mural project at the Strawberry Festival, so we're moving onto community prayer flags. Woolf Den Homestead will have a donation based crystal bracelet making station. Plus kid activities and lawn games.

Plant Medicine Workshop 3- Plant Walk at Raven Ridge with Julie Mitchell. July 11th from 5 to 7:30 pm
**Depending on class size, we might switch the location from Raven Ridge to Julie's house. We will still meet at the library and carpool. During this field trip workshop, we will learn about what plants grow in Monkton and how to identify them.
