Ever wondered who invented the Carbonara recipe?
Its Renato Gualandi who invented Carbonara. The first culinary prize winner who born in1921 ditched novel ingredients and complex flavor and return it to the simplicity and authenticity of the dishes of his land, Emilia Romagna, and of Bologna in particular.

What do some of the chicken parts used for?
Let's find it out
1)Whole bird
The whole chicken can be used for making chicken stock. You would roast or poach the chicken with vegetables and could then use the cooked meat for sandwiches and salads. Alternatively, you could flatten the chicken. This is a great way to barbecue a whole chicken, finishing it off in a closed barbecue to cook through
2)Breast and tenderloin
The chicken breast must be the most versatile meat. It is white meat with very little fat and it is the perfect cut to slice up in stir-fries, marinate and grill, pan-fry or oven roast, filled with your favorite filling. Chicken breasts can also be baked or poached and used in salad, sandwiches, shredded, and put into soups.
Tenderloins are a good option too. They are slightly more tender than the whole breast, great crumbed and baked or quickly chargrilled and tossed in a hot salad. Buy as single chicken breasts fillets without the skin, with tenderloin attached, or with skin on. A supreme cut is the chicken breast with a wingette attached and skin on.
3) Thighs
Chicken thighs can be bought as thigh fillets with skin and bone removed, or thigh cutlets, with bone and skin, still attached. Chicken thigh meat is brown and has a little more fat than the breast, but also slightly more flavor. Thigh fillets are greatly sliced or chopped in stir-fries, or in casseroles. Use the thigh cutlet in casseroles or bakes.
4) Drumsticks, wings
Chicken wings and drumsticks are usually cheaper cuts of chicken. They are great baked in a sticky glaze or marinade and eaten in your fingers.
5)Mince
Chicken mince can be used for rissoles, burgers, meatballs, or cooked in a Vietnamese larb salad. You can use chicken mince instead of beef mince in tacos or enchiladas.
Are you curious about how and what suitable time to boil the pasta?
Lets me share a picture that shows what is an accurate time to cook the pasta.
Let's discover the type of pasta and the dishes that they best used.
1) Spaghetti
- this pasta is known for dishes such as the most well-known dishes which is Spaghetti Bolgnaise where the pasta with meat. These long, thin noodles can be paired with varieties of sauce
2) Penne
- This round, tube-like structure with diagonal cuts at their ends is best served in dishes that have the thick and creamy sauce as the sauce will pe*****te the tube and holds the sauce well. This pasta can also be used in pasta bake dishes.
3) Lasagne
- Lasagne is also one of the most well-known dishes which likely comprises beef, layers of lasagne, and bechamel sauce, topped with cheese.
4) Ravioli
- A pillow-shaped squares of dough that can pretty much do any dishes. This pasta can be filled with cheese, seafood, meat, or veggies and topped with sauce, served in soups, or simply drizzled with olive oil.
5) Linguine
- linguine is a little flatter and is considered to be more luxurious. The extra surface area means that it is perfect for pairing with lighter textures, like cream-based sauce or seafood.
6) Rigatoni
- Similar to peene, this pasta is tubes with small ridges on the outside but they are slightly wider and cut into a square rather than diagonally. This types of pasta are best paired with chunky sauces full of vegetables or we can bake it into a gratin.
7) Farfalle
- Known as ‘bow-tie’ pasta and translating to ‘butterfly’ from Italian, this pasta is shaped like exactly that. It’s a relatively small pasta, with a large surface area which is why it best pairs with cheese, or rich tomato sauce as the ‘wings’ hold the sauce perfectly. It also compliments a cold pasta salad and is sometimes served with grilled chicken.
8) Fusilli
- This pasta has a spiraled, corkscrew-like shape that pairs perfectly with rich meat sauces or chunky vegetables as the chunks get caught in the crevices of the twirls giving the dish a lovely texture. They can also be baked into casseroles or pasta bakes for the same reason.
9) Macaroni
- A simple shape, macaroni are small tubes of pasta that are cut into short lengths and often curved. Often they’re found floating in a minestrone or cheese sauce, ready to be thrown into the oven for a good old Mac ‘n Cheese so they don’t really need to hold sauces.
10) Cannelloni
- This type of pasta can either come flat or pre-rolled into large tubes, which are then stuffed with various fillings, such as spinach and ricotta cheese. This large pasta also pairs well with a simple, light sauce like tomato
Did you know that proteins are made of amino acids?
Well here is the answer: Yes, proteins are made up of building blocks which are also known as amino acids. We had identified that there are about 20 different amino acids that link together in different combinations. Our body uses them to make and create new proteins, such as muscle and bone, and other compounds such as enzymes and hormones. Protein also can be used as an energy source. There are 11 non-essential amino acids and 9 essential amino acids.

Did you always wonder that is it necessary to boil our pasta with salt?
Let's check the statement below👇
We are constantly reminded that too much salt isn’t good and therefore choose to leave it out where we could, including pasta. This is a mistake. Pasta needs plenty of salt because salt toughens the surface and keeps it from becoming slimy. Add about a teaspoon of salt per gallon of water. Seems like a lot but every good Italian chef cooks it this way and it really does make a difference. Luckily, the pasta does not absorb salt in the same way that vegetables or potatoes do, so you will not be eating all the salt that you use in the cooking water.
