Rainbow Smoothie

Ingredients
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 cup frozen mango
1/2 cup frozen oranges
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1/2 cup frozen spinach
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1/4 cup frozen blackberries
1 packet frozen acai
5 frozen bananas, sliced
3 cups coconut water
Instructions
Separate frozen fruits in their specified quantities on a baking sheet or cutting board.
Start with the red smoothie layer. Blend together strawberries, raspberries and 1/4 cup coconut water. Pour into a separate bowl or cup.
To make the orange layer, blend together mango, oranges, 1/2 banana, and 1/4 cup coconut water. Transfer to a separate bowl or cup.
For the yellow layer, blend together pineapple, 1 frozen banana, and 1/4 cup coconut water. Transfer to a separate bowl or cup.
To make the green layer, blend together spinach, 1 frozen banana, and 1/4 cup coconut water. Transfer to a separate bowl or cup.
Lastly, make the purple layer. Blend together blackberries, blueberries, acai, and 1/4 cup coconut water. Transfer to a separate bowl or cup.
Arrange your bowls and cups of smoothies by color. Use a spoon to layer in each color into a large glass, starting with purple at the bottom. Add about 1 tablespoon at a time, and a total of 3-4 tablespoons in each layer. Be careful not to add too much at once, or the colors will run together. Layer green next, then yellow and orange. Finish topping off the rainbow smoothie with the red layer.
Notes
You may need to add more coconut water to each layer, depending on the power of your blender. (For best results, use a high-powdered blender.) Start with 1/4 cup coconut water to get it to the consistency of your liking. Make sure it is still thick enough to layer.
If smoothie becomes too thin, add in frozen banana to thicken. Individual color layers can be placed in bowls in the freezer for 5-10 minutes to thicken.
Add each layer in tablespoon increments. Be careful not to add too much at once, or the colors will run together.

Rainbow Smoothie Shots

Ingredients
Red Smoothie Shot
▢4 strawberries
▢¼ cup chopped beets raw or roasted
▢1 tsp lemon juice 5 mL
▢1 tsp honey 5 mL
Orange Smoothie Shot
▢½ carrot peeled and grated
▢1 tsp fresh grated ginger 5 g
▢1 tsp honey 5 mL
▢Pinch ground turmeric
Yellow Smoothie Shot
▢½ banana
▢2 tsp fresh grated ginger 10 g
▢1 tsp lemon juice 5 mL
▢Pinch ground turmeric
Green Smoothie Shot
▢1 cup fresh spinach 30 g
▢1 tsp fresh grated ginger 5 g
▢1 tsp lemon juice 5 mL
▢1 tsp honey 5 mL
Instructions
Blend: Choose which smoothie shot you want to make, then add its ingredients to a blender, along with 1 or 2 tablespoons of water. Blend until smooth, adding a touch more water as needed to get things moving.
Strain (Optional): If making the red or yellow smoothie, serve fresh from the blender. If making the orange or green smoothie, you may want to strain it through a fine mesh sieve. Pour juice into a shot glass and serve.

Green layer
1/2 frozen large banana
1 portion frozen spinach
Yellow layer
1/2 frozen large banana
1/4 cup frozen mango
Orange layer
1/2 frozen large banana
Red layer

5 frozen strawberries
Purple layer
1/2 frozen large banana
1/3 cup blueberries
Instructions
Blend the ingredients of each layer separately until smooth.
Layer in a tall glass or jar.
Garnish with edible flowers (violas), raspberries and desiccated coconut.

Orange Layer
1 frozen banana

½ cup frozen peaches
1 small orange
¼ cup frozen mango
water or liquid for blending
Yellow Layer
2 frozen bananas

1 cup frozen pineapple

Green Layer
2 frozen bananas
½ cup greek yogurt vanilla or plain
1 handful or more spinach
1 cup frozen pineapple

Blue Layer
2 frozen bananas
½ cup greek yogurt vanilla or plain
1 cup frozen pineapple
small amount of blue food coloring
water or liquid for blending
Purple Layer
1 frozen banana
½ cup greek yogurt vanilla or plain
1 cup frozen mixed berries
water or liquid for blending
Magenta Layer
1 frozen banana
½ cup greek yogurt vanilla or plain
½ cup sliced beets
1 cup frozen strawberries or raspberries
Instructions
For each smoothie
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Add more liquid to help it blend if it’s too thick.
Transfer the smoothie to a bowl or container, rinse the blender and prep the next smoothie.
To assemble the rainbow smoothie
Carefully layer each color smoothie in glasses in rainbow order. If desired, blend the smoothie using a straw or stir stick. Top each smoothie with a toothpick filled with leftover fruit.
Notes
I was able to make 8-10 rainbow smoothies using 15.5 oz glasses.
The recipe can be scaled back to yield a smaller portion. Simply cut each smoothie recipe in half.
If you’d like to avoid canned fruit, use fresh fruit. I would suggest cutting it up and freezing it so the smoothie will still be frosty and thick.
If you are opposed to using a small amount of blue food coloring to achieve the blue layer, it’s totally fine to skip that layer! If you want to go the all natural route, here is a tutorial for how to make natural blue food coloring, or you can buy natural blue food coloring here or here as well.

HEALTHY RED AND GREEN SMOOTHIE

INGREDIENTS
FOR THE GREEN LAYER:
1 cup frozen mango
1/2 frozen banana
1/2–3/4 cup soy milk (or other plant-based milk)
Handful fresh baby spinach
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger OR 1/2 inch fresh ginger root
FOR THE RED LAYER:
1 cup frozen red raspberries
1/3 cup pomegranate-cherry juice
1 blood orange OR 1 navel orange OR 1/2 grapefruit, peeled
INSTRUCTIONS
Add all the ingredients for the green layer to a blender cup and puree until smooth. Set aside.
Add all the ingredients for the red layer to a blender cup and puree until smooth.
To serve, divide red and green smoothie mixture between 2 glasses.

Rainbow Breakfast Smoothies

Ingredients
1 small ripe banana
100 g frozen fruit of your choice
4 tbsp. natural yogurt (regular or dairy free)
1 tbsp. seed butter
1/2 tbsp. honey or maple syrup
100 ml fruit juice or chilled coconut water
Squeeze of lime juice, to taste

Directions
Whizz all the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Serve immediately.

Rainbow Sherbet Smoothie

INGREDIENTS
FOR THE LIME SMOOTHIE:
1/2 haas avocado, peeled and pitted
1/2 cup coconut-almond milk
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice, plus 1/2 teaspoon lime zest
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup ice, or as needed
FOR THE ORANGE SMOOTHIE:
1 orange, peeled and segments separated
1/2 frozen banana, peeled
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup coconut-almond milk
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup ice, or as needed

FOR THE RASPBERRY SMOOTHIE:

1 cup raspberries, plus more to top
1/2 frozen banana, peeled
1/2 cup coconut-almond milk
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup ice, or as needed

INSTRUCTIONS
Place all of the lime smoothie ingredients in a blender and blend until well combined and no large chunks of ice remain. If necessary, add more ice or liquid to get to your desired consistency. Pour into a cup and refrigerate to prevent them from melting while you prepare the orange and raspberry smoothies. Repeat with the 2 remaining flavors.

Once you’ve prepared all three flavors, pour them into your glasses in alternating layers, allowing them to run together or build up unevenly. Top with additional raspberries and enjoy.

Rainbow Smoothie

Ingredients
Banana-Avocado Smoothie Base:

2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 tablespoon ground flax seeds

1 tablespoon honey

1 medium ripe banana

1/2 ripe avocado

1 cup ice cubes
Make it Pink:

1 cup frozen strawberries, thawed

1 pre-cooked beet, diced
Make it Yellow:

1 cup diced frozen mango, thawed

1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
Make it Green:

1 cup frozen green grapes

1/2 cup kale leaves

1/2 cup diced pineapple
Make it Purple:

1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries, thawed

Directions
For the banana-avocado smoothie base: Put the almond milk, flax seeds, honey, banana and avocado in a blender. Blend on high until the mixture is mostly smooth, about 1 minute. Add the ice cubes and blend until completely smooth.
To make it pink, yellow, green or purple: Add the color additions and blend again until completely smooth.

Berrylicious Rainbow Smoothie

Ingredients
-Strawberry Banana Smoothie:
-1½ cups frozen strawberries
-1 banana
-1 scoop vanilla protein powder
-1 cup milk
-Blackberry Smoothie:
-1 1/2 cups frozen blackberries
-½ banana
-1 scoop vanilla protein powder

-Raspberry Smoothie:
-1 ½ cups frozen raspberries

Instructions
1. First blend the Strawberry Banana Smoothie until very thick and smooth. Distribute evenly between the three glasses.
2. Next blend the Blackberry Smoothie in the same blender until thick and smooth.
Gently top the strawberry smoothie with blackberry.
3. Repeat the process with the Raspberry smoothie.
4. Top with a straw and enjoy immediately!

Tutti Frutti Rainbow Smoothie

Ingredients
1 cup sweetened coconut milk
1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
1/4 cup vanilla greek yogurt
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup fresh, ready-to-eat spinach

Instructions
Place 1/2 cup coconut milk, mango, and greek yogurt in an electric blender. Blend until smooth. Pour half of mixture into a 16 oz. glass.
Add strawberries and 1/4 cup coconut milk to remaining smoothie in blender, blending until smooth. Spoon half of mixture into glass on top of mango layer.
Add blueberries and 1/4 cup coconut milk to remaining smoothie in blender, blending until smooth. Spoon half of this mixture into glass on top of strawberry layer.
Add spinach to remaining smoothie and blend. Spoon all of this mixture into glass on top of blueberry layer. Enjoy!

1 Cup Prairie Farms Whole Milk
1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
Toppings
Strawberries

Instructions
In a blender, combine all smoothie ingredients.
Pour into the bowls of your choice and add toppings. Starting with strawberries, place them in a curved line across the top of the bowl. Directly underneath, arrange rest of fruit in rainbow order.
Add any extra toppings and enjoy immediately.

INGREDIENTS
Red layer: 1 cup strawberries, blended thoroughly.
Orange layer: 1/2 cup cantaloup, 1/2 banana, and 1/3 cup Greek yogurt
Yellow layer: 1/2 cup pineapple and 1/2 cup banana.
Green layer: 2 whole kiwis, 1/3 cup fresh spinach, 1/4 cup apple juice.
Purple Layer: 1/2 cup fresh blueberries, 1/4 cup purple grapes, 1/3 cup apple juice.

INSTRUCTIONS
Blend purple layer, pour in a glass, and set in the freezer to chill for a minute.
Blend green layer, then pour on top of the purple, then set back in the freezer.
Blend yellow layer, pour on top of green, then chill in the freezer.
Blend orange layer, pour on top of yellow, then chill in the freezer.
Blend red layer, pour on top of orange, then chill in the freezer for about 5 minutes.

Yellow Layer

1 banana
1 slice lemon

2 Tbsp natural yogurt
1 cup ice

Orange Layer

1 carrot
1 banana
1/2 orange
5 chunks frozen mango

1 cup ice

Red Layer

1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup raspberries
1 cup unfrozen strawberries
1 small slice beetroot
3 chunks frozen mango

Pink Layer

1 cup strawberries
1 cup unfrozen strawberries
1 beetroot (peeled)
1 banana
3 Tbsp natural yogurt
1 cup ice
water (if required)

Method
Blend all smoothie layers for 20-40 seconds or until a thick icy consistency has been reached.
You want to ensure the smoothies are very thick (almost bordering on a slurpy or sorbet consistency, so they don’t mix together when layering).
Place each smoothie layer into a glad bag or glass and place in the freezer until all layers are complete so they don’t melt.
Carefully layer each different colour smoothie into the glass with a spoon.
For a tie dye effect push a straw to the bottom of the glass and scrape upwards towards the top layer.

½ cucumber
½ teaspoon raw honey
For the yellow layer

½ cup fresh pineapple

INSTRUCTIONS
For each layer, blend together all the ingredients until smooth. Make sure to clean the blender after each layer so the colors don’t mix together.
Divide between 2 serving glasses in any order you like.

INGREDIENTS
1 frozen banana
1 medium carrot
Enough non-dairy milk to blend (about 1/3 cup)
GREEN LAYER
1 1/2 frozen banana
1 handful spinach
