What a night!! As a patient, I know firsthand how debilitating and isolating Crohns and Colitis can be. However, Saturday night was different. I had the honor of serving on the committee of the 6th annual cocktail competition benefitting . It was touching to see the community come together to support this foundation and move the needle towards finding a cure for these debilitating diseases and support the millions of Crohns and Colitis patients and caregivers. A BIG thank you to my friends and family who donated and joined me that evening, and to the businesses who so generously donated auction items! Because of your generosity we raised more than $204,000, and exceeded our goal by more than $19,000.

I want to thank my family and friends for your support today. I could never have done this without y’all! Thank you for walking by my side and for donating to this cause that is so dear to my heart!

I truly never thought there would come a day where I could honestly say, “I feel better.” I was asked today by the sweetest lady how I felt. It took me a minute to spit out the words, “I feel great!”

Today was a day I had only dreamt about for the past 10+ years. A day where I could feel “normal” again and be able to participate in !

Having can make you feel so alone at times, and to see so many teams come together to support patients was AMAZING! You could definitely feel the love and support in the air!

Thank you to ALL who made today possible! A big thank you to the who put on this event! I truly believe that together we can find a cure for IBD!!

** WARNING LONG POST** 😬

As some of you may know, May is Lupus Awareness month, and also Mental health Awareness month.

Sunday I had the privilege to attend an event, . I could relate to all the testimonies given by such brave WARRIORS!

As I sit and reflect on the stories my dear friends shared this past Sunday, regarding their fight with Lupus. I come to reflect that we are all truly WARRIORS despite diagnosis!

This is what drove me to start Chronic Warrior] in November. I wanted to create platform, a community for those with chronic illnesses, to come together and offer support for one another.

As many of you might know I suffer from Chrons disease and have for several years.

I also wanted to touch on May being Mental Health Awareness Month. Being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease takes a toll not only on you physically, but mentally. I have never been open about this because well, there is a stigma when it comes to mental health in our society. Three years ago at the height of a Chrons flare up, my mental health was in severe decline. I had to learn that I was grieving my past life and had to learn to accept my new life, living with Chrons. I had no idea the severity the effect Chrons would have on my life mentally. I came to find out that I was diagnosed with PTSD, Major Panic Disorder, and Major Depressive Disorder.

I am speaking openly about this because I want all of you WARRIORS to know that you are most certainly not ALONE!!!

STAY STRONG, KEEP FIGHTING, AND NEVE GIVE UP! YOU ARE WARRIOR!!

To say I am thankful for where I am today is an understatement. If you would have asked me two years ago if I would be symptom free from my , I would have said you were out of your mind!

I also never thought I would be able to accomplish what I have in the past year.

From that girl that was barely 90lbs with very little muscle mass, to be able to go on and place 🥇 in my very first npc competition last November.

I learned so much about myself in the past year and more importantly about my strength.

I encourage YOU, not to give up hope even though you might be so tired of fighting. Believe in yourself and what you are capable of.

As WARRIORS, we fight hard for tiny glimpses of hope in our lives. Hope of relief from illnesses, stress, heartache, etc.

Trust me when I say you will get there! By living a healthy lifestyle, mentally and physically I was able to get to where I am at today!
