Today’s guest on the podcast is Francine Favret, a Heart-Centered Coach, Speaker, and Empowered Empath who assists the ambitious in reconnecting with what matters most and guiding them to inner peace.

In this interview we explore Transformation, Peace, and Serenity, and her life’s mission, leaving people feeling fully alive.

On my path of purpose working with mission-driven organizations for over 20 years, I've learned from personal experience and observation that so many folks working for social profit organizations and social entrepreneurs are heart-centered high achievers who often put their calling before their own needs.

You will want to listen to Francine’s message and be inspired and empowered to achieve a healthy and balanced life and to restore and sustain overall well-being, energy, focus, and creativity.

So grateful for having had the opportunity to talk with Tesha McCord Poe on this week’s episode of Living For Purpose. Tesha is a rare philanthropy and equity expert, committed to excellent leadership in action, fundraising success, and volunteer leadership.

Joy-Raising, LLC is the embodiment of Tesha’s vision, a fundraising and diversity consultancy that is unafraid to have discussions about money and race in order to help the organizations that they partner with to move forward and do great things.

In this conversation, we touch on her process of building Joy-Raising, and talk about the impact she wants to have on the Joy-Raising journey and the importance of making our fundraising practices more inclusive.

Tune in and let’s unpack some practices on how your organization, and everyone in philanthropy, can create more inclusive philanthropy programs and make our work even better.

How to Start Healing During a Season of Grief 03/04/2021

It’s Spring. There’s a real feeling of possibility and the scent of wisteria in the air. Many of our parents and loved ones have received the vaccine, and some of us, too.

Collectively there’s a push to move forward, and it feels great. And there may also be a feeling - personally - of needing more time to reflect, grieve for our losses, and heal.

Experiencing and healing from grief is individual - we have our own path. And we are integral to others’ healing when we acknowledge their grief and hold space for them.

Healthy grieving and healing is an active process. Before Spring-ing forward, take the time you need, whatever your season.

How to Start Healing During a Season of Grief There is no singular way to respond to heartache or sorrow. Find the strategy that works best for you.

My guest on Living For Purpose this week is Chief Operations Officer at RCF Connects Stacey Street. When Stacey began her work with RCF Connects (formerly Richmond Community Foundation), they were in an evolutionary state, having only recently become a community foundation. She was an integral part of helping build their infrastructure, and as part of that, they did the work of identifying their core value and their big WHY for their organization.

When equity was identified as the core value of RCF, that was the AHA moment for Stacey. Simultaneous to RCF’s evolution, Stacey had a transformation of her own, fueled by her participation in the program, The Leadership for Equity and Opportunity, which uses the Radical Transformational Leadership framework created by Dr. Monica Sharma.

Today RCF’s work involves connecting resources and people, helping diverse groups of stakeholders to work together, elevating ideas and generating solutions to community issues and policy change, and shifting narratives and cultural norms.

In this episode you will learn about Stacey’s journey from leadership in the arts to transformational community building, and the steps you can take to walk this path.
