🌏 We hope everyone's exam prep has been going well! We're almost at the end of the term, you can do it ✨

Below is an oportunity from the Science Education for WIL with CSIRO and TOURISM AUSTRALIA. If you're interested, make sure to sign up before the end of 13th Sunday, tomorrow.

---

In Term 3, the Faculty of Science is partnering with both CSIRO and Tourism Australia within 'SCIF3000: Science Industry Project' to deliver two Industry Project experiences for undergraduate Aviation, BEES, Climate Science, Data Science, Earth Science, Geography, Physics, Maths and Statistics students! Applications have been extended until this Sunday 13th August to give you more time to apply!

Whether you're interested in scientific advisory or consulting career paths, looking to gain more industry experience while studying or just eager to apply your disciplinary skills to tackle complex real-world problems, this course is designed for everyone.

CSIRO: Tracking the growth of renewable energy using artificial intelligence. As Australia and the world moves from fossil fuels to renewable energy, community education and engagement is needed to help ensure the smooth, fast, and cost-effective transition. Although the internet contains a wealth of information documenting the progress of the energy transition, much of this information is inaccessible and difficult to find or interpret. CSIRO Energy is considering a web “app” of some sort to track the progress of the energy transition, for publication on its internet page and potentially linking or embedding by other sites.

TOURISM AUSTRALIA: Australia’s international aviation capacity and performance reporting
TA’s specialist aviation unit produces regular updates on developments in Australia’s inbound air schedules. These updates can be provided for external public audiences including the international tourism industry, as well as internal audiences such as TA’s executive leadership team, the TA Board, Minister and others stakeholders. The project aims to set a challenge for students to develop an executive style performance report detailing past and forward airline schedules for Australia, including selected performance metrics such as flight load factors, airline yield, airfare data and more.

To find out more about SCIF3000, visit the Science Student Opportunities Portal or the application forms below or contact [email protected] with questions.
