When I started piano at 2 with Dr. Gayle Kowalchyk, I wanted to play everything by ear… I learned to read (thank goodness), but years later, I often found myself in trouble for adding things into classical music that weren’t supposed to be there. I think jazz has always been in my bones, thanks to my grandfather. And anyway, you’ve heard me blend jazz with pop, classical and alternative music over the years with … and although I’ve always taken jazz gigs as a vocalist, I’ve never truly explored creating an ensemble that leans heaviest on jazz. I’m excited to share with you Coloring Twelve; my latest project that includes Jake Hertzog (guitar), Claudia Burson (keys), Zoie Benton (Background Vocals), Benji Wilson (upright bass) and Steve Wilkes (set drums). 🤍 More to come. // image x The Harp Creatives
