As ever, screen-printed using vegan-friendly, water-based ink on GOTS-, Peta- and Fair Wear Foundation-certified 100% organic cotton t-shirt 🌱
And the story begins...
With backgrounds in design and music, we'd long romanticised about designing and selling our own t-shirts, and the birth of our daughter in January 2018 proved to be the spark that lit a fire under us. We came to realise – pretty quickly – that we wanted to spend as much of our lives with her as we possibly could, and that launching our own project could give us the opportunity to do so.
We thought hard, not just about the type of company we want to run, but the type we hope will become more commonplace in the world our daughter will grow up in. Many of the answers we found were quite obvious. We want to design great t-shirts and we want to build a company that values craftsmanship and quality materials, as well as one that treats human beings and the world around us in the way they deserve to be treated. With this in mind, we grabbed any free hour we could – usually eked out during naptime or after bedtime – to develop and eventually found Hands Up Who Cares.
