What to do if you get stuck in a rut and want to get back on track & keep moving forward ✨

It happens to all of us. There can be lots of reasons why this happens. I know for me, it’s when I am trying to do too much or set too high of an expectation for myself. That’s when I get burnt out & can start feeling stuck again.

This happened to me, just a few weeks ago actually, but here’s 3 tips on how I kept moving forward even while I felt stuck that helped me to get back on track.

✨ Stick with the basics
What are the most basic actions that you can take to keep you moving forward without over doing it? For me it’s these 3 simple things:
• Get 7-8 hours of sleep
• Add in extra veggies to at least one of my meals
• Get at least 20 min of intentional movement in daily.

✨ Rest
Sometimes you’re feeling burnt out because your body is telling you it needs rest. This can look different for everyone. Maybe for you it’s a nap or a day or two with no plans or big obligations. I definitely needed a few rest days to feel like myself again.

✨ Add a little joy to your day
Do something that brings you a little joy & can brighten your day. Grab a coffee with a friend or do one of your favorite hobbies. Sometimes it’s easy to just get caught up with life’s busyness & you just need a break from all that to do something fun!

Sticking to the basics, getting some needed rest, & adding in a little joy can be all the reset you need to keep moving forward towards your goals. When you’re ready you can slowly start adding in new healthy habits again & work your way up. There is no rush to living a healthy lifestyle, it’s really just growing & learning as you go ✨

• lovin’ this little family of mine •

Thought it’s been a while since I shared some things about me. It’s also been a little while since I posted so I thought this would be a good time to share if there are any new faces to my page.

Hey there 👋🏼 I’m Kelsie!

• I’m a wife & a mama to a 9 month old. I love doing life with my guys!

• I’m born & raised in Southern Cali, but a country girl at heart 🌻

• I am a coach for Beachbody & I help other women create consistency & discipline with their health & fitness so they can live fuller lives.

• I started being consistent with my own health & fitness journey using these programs when I was just about 10 weeks postpartum. It’s been such a blessing to my life!

• As a family, we love going to our favorite homemade scones & coffee shop in town. Doug & I had our first “study date” at a coffee shop so coffee is kinda a big deal in this fam.

• We are fur parents to a black lab & an orange tabby cat. One day, we want to own some property & add lots more fur babies.

• We currently live with Doug’s sister as we work towards getting our own place. It’s been great having extra help as I navigate being a new mama.

• My life’s verse is Philippians 3:12-14. I believe that in life’s messiness is where we find the good Lord’s mercy, love, & grace.✨

I was not about to let myself go after having my baby. I knew the girl before I got pregnant ——> inconsistent, full of excuses, uncomfortable in her skin, lacking confidence, undisciplined…

& I knew I didn’t want to be her anymore. I knew that if I waited, kept pushing it off, that I would keep struggling & I wanted off that struggle bus.

I believed that prioritizing my health & fitness would do more for me that just “getting fit.” I believed that if I could learn how to be disciplined in my health, it would pour over into other areas of my life. So I made the decision to give it my all & guess what?

I was right ✨ this journey has started to change my life for the better in so many ways & the best part is that I get to keep learning, keep growing, & keep being better than the girl I was yesterday…all in God’s loving grace of course ☺️

I could have waited, but I’m thankful I didn’t ✨

Almost 9 months postpartum ——> 9 weeks postpartum

9 weeks postpartum is when I committed to my health & fitness journey.

I was exhausted from adjusting to sleepless nights, breastfeeding, & stepping into the new role as mama all while still trying to be a good wife, cook, take care of our home.

I felt so weak. I lost most of my muscle during my pregnancy & not being intentionally active prior. It didn’t help that Wesson doubled his weight in 2 months.

I was emotional because I was dealing with a lot of anxiety & postpartum hormones.

I had all the reasons to push off saying yes because I was a busy overwhelmed new mama. But then I would have missed out on everything saying yes to prioritizing my health has given me!

I have more ENERGY to do all the things. I get way more done than I used to & have more motivation too.

I have more strength. I’ve gained muscle in places I haven’t seen in a long time & I can carry my sweet boy wayyy longer than I could in the beginning. Now he is 20+ lbs 🤪

I am able to manage & regulate my emotions a lot better, & let’s me honest that makes life better for everyone including myself lol

In my new busy season of life I had all the reasons to
keep pushing it off, to say not yet, to explain away why I couldn’t, but saying yes has really given me so much more in return.

When your workouts are short & sweet & get straight to the point 💪🏼 it’s easy to be consistent & consistency leads to results. Swipe to see my sister-in-laws results too ——>

But, if you’re wondering how to stay consistent?

✨ Create a routine, preferably in the morning. It creates momentum for your day. When you’re first starting out though, you wanna keep it simple. Write down a few things you want to accomplish in the morning. Practice doing them every morning until it’s a habit.

✨Change your mindset. When thoughts start to get in the way like, “I don’t want to workout right now,” practice thinking “I will feel so much better after my workout.” If you practice just simple mindset shifts, overtime redirecting your thoughts will become automatic.

✨ Set a big goal, but focus on the smaller goals each day. Make them simple & attainable so you have something to feel good about each day. Your small wins will turn into big wins over time.

✨Ask for accountability. Someone who’s in your corner & wants you to reach your goals too!

I don’t even think twice about getting my workout in anymore, I just do it because it’s simply apart of my day & these programs & accountability have made it that much easier.

All the reasons you tell yourself why you can’t are only excuses keeping you from what you are capable of.

I say it with love though because I was the girl with excuses too.

We lived in a trailer our first year of marriage & I didn’t exercise because I said their was “no room” even though we lived on a property with a ton of space to workout outside. Or I was too exhausted from working at the restaurant & the ranch, even though I knew exercise would give me more energy. Or when I found out I was pregnant & had no reason why I shouldn’t be moving my body for a healthy pregnancy, but I didn’t feel like it.

After I had Wesson & after being cleared by my doctor, I decided I wasn’t going to let being in postpartum recovery another excuse to not exercise especially when I had the option to not only workout at home with my baby, but also have postpartum workout options available to me.

I should note that there are certain medical reasons while pregnant or postpartum, that you should not be exercising. So I’m mainly just speaking to the excuses we tell ourselves because we are afraid of getting uncomfortable.

I get it though because change is uncomfortable. And it’s easier to believe the lie that tells you to stay where you are because then maybe you wouldn’t fail & you wouldn’t have to get uncomfortable.

Ditching the excuses was the first step to creating the healthy lifestyle I knew was so important to me. From there, I didn’t overcomplicate it. I just started & figured out what worked for me so that I could be consistent. If you want to ditch the excuses & just get started, but you’re not sure how to make it work for you, that’s what I’m here for! I can help you ✨👏🏼

“Dreams don’t work unless you do”
One of my favorite little coffee shops writes random quotes & verses on their cups. The other day, I got this one.

I’ve always been a dreamer. I’ve always had high expectations out of life. Which can be both a good & a bad thing. God has had to humble me in some ways, but I believe He has also put dreams in my heart for a reason.

Through the years, God has shaped & molded my dreams & desires too. I want to live in the country with a farmhouse & own a ranch. I want to raise my family with a foundation built on morals, hard work, and faith & trust in God. I eventually want to start a horsemanship ministry that the Lord stirred in my heart a long time ago.

So why did I choose coaching? For 4 years, I watched another girl’s journey as a coach. I saw her heart for helping people, her love for God, and watched her accomplish some incredible life goals while also building a life she dreamed of too. This inspired me.

I too, wanted to create a life of helping people all while pursuing the dreams God put in my heart. I have a love for health & fitness, & it gives me joy helping others overcome their own obstacles in their journey to building a healthier life. I also wanted to stay at home to raise my babies while still contributing to building a life we want together. This is why I started coaching. It is work, but when I look at my reasons why, the work becomes so worth it & I’m willing to do it.

Are you a dreamer too? Did the Lord put desires in your heart? Drop a ✨ below if you have big dreams too.

Time is precious. I’m understanding this now more than ever as a new mama.

Life is crazy & it can pass you by quickly, but I don’t want life to just pass me by. I want to actually be LIVING it.

I want to have the energy, be healthy, & feel strong so that I can give MORE to my family & to the Lord. THIS is what these programs have given me & it has seriously changed my life for the better.

I know it can do the same for you, so what’s stopping you? ✨
