Paul Shupack Music
Paul Shupack, guitarist & vocalist performs a variety of styles including, Jazz, Blues, R&B and Rock.
I lean heavily toward the blues but love many different kinds of music and enjoy trying out new stuff. I do these videos as part of the process when learning new tunes. They are works in progress that if I opt to include in my set usually improve and evolve over time. "It Don't Mean A Thing" (by Duke Ellington)
Played this tune hundreds of times over the years on electric with bands. Got a wild hair to try it solo acoustic. A few rough edges. Nonetheless I amused myself momentarily. One part jazz, one part funk, one part blues, add a little grease and you got...... "The Chicken"
Looking forward to playing guitar with the great jazz vocal harmony group D-City Junction at the Confluence fundraiser on December 6. We’ll be performing along with these other fine groups Soul Food Band and the Confluence Band.
***GIG IS CANCELLED TONIGHT DUE TO UNRELENTING SNOW. STAY SAFE AND HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON***
"Hideaway" by Freddie King (with a little dash of SRV vibe)
One of my favorite Jimi tunes "Castles Made Of Sand"
"The story of life is quicker than the wink of an eye
The story of love is hello, goodbye
Until we meet again..."

I was fiddling around between sets to warm up and the audience seemed to dig it. So at an otherwise mostly blues gig I mixed it up a little with this tune by Michel Legrand.
"What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life" Music by Michel Legrand. Performed by Paul Shupack
Late night shedding on some tunes for solo blues gigs. "Midnight Rider"
Long Island, NY was an amazing place to grow up. Spent too many absurdly cool times in NYC to recall. Some challenges today but I am confident NY'ers will figure it out. They always do. Dusting off this one for my solo set, "New York State Of Mind"

Unplugged solo jazz: "Nica's Dream", by Horace Silver
"Nica's Dream" Solo guitar performance by Paul Shupack of this great Horace Silver classic tune.
Playing with D-City Junction tomorrow (Sat. 8/19; 6-9pm) at Dang Soft Serve (2211 Oneida St, Denver.). They are setting up a stage for us in the beautiful courtyard. Come out and groove on very hip jazz vocal harmonies on a great selection of tunes while gorging yourself on some serious ice cream. I'll also be doing a set with the band. 🎸☮︎♥️
Late night getting my ass kicked by "Giant Steps". Beast of a tune, an etude really, by John Coltrane. At gigs I tend play and sing all kinds of music, Blues, Rock, R&B, Jazz, Country. But at home I tend to woodshed a lot of jazz. Great for the hands and ears.
"Born Under A Bad Sign"...Lots of little kids playing in front of where I was playing. They were very supportive.
Solo gig yesterday at the Junkyard Social Club
"Sweet Melissa" Audience request...
Fun solo gig this evening...💃🏻🕺🎸
Chill double-header solo gig weekend. Friday: Old Churn, Fort Collins 6-8pm; Saturday: Junkyard Social Club, Boulder 3-5pm. Playing solo is great since I like to explore a lot of different areas and it allows me to freely transition between styles, genres, tunes and improvisations depending on the mood in the room and what, if anything, is in my head. 🤓
Gitty up! 🤠
Looking forward to returning to Bierstadt Lagerhaus. Nice folks and some very serious beerage flowing.....🕺💃🏻
Tonight I will be a featured guest at the Tequila Blues Jam (32nd & Meade) hosted by James Speiser. It goes from 6-9pm. Come on by!
