Massive congrats to Dan Bigham () who on Friday set a new with the amazing result of 55,548 km!
At nimbl we are very proud to have played a small role in this project. When Dan approached us to make the world’s fastest cycling shoes, our development team took on the challenge. We worked closely with Dan to provide him with an aero-optimized pair of EXPECT shoes, a model that is synonymous with endless customization from full carbon shoes to the hybrid form used by Dan.
Dan Bigham: ”I chose nimbl shoes for the hour record attempt as real world, track and wind tunnel testing showed the nimbl (AIR) were not only exceptionally light and stiff, the shoes were by far the most aerodynamic shoes I have tested. Having used the AIR for my successful British hour record attempt last year (54.723km) I felt we could move the design on even further. We searched for additional areas of optimization and improvement, finding a number of ways to make the fastest shoes even faster. The outcome of the project is a pair of EXPECT shoes that rendered a 200 meter gain for the hour record over the standard AIR shoes.”

We asked .haussler to test our new AIR ULTIMATES ahead of release and after a few weeks of riding this is what he has to say:
“First of all, the biggest factor for me is how light this shoe is. It is a lot lighter than the other models. It comes in 165 g which is absolutely amazing for a bike shoe.
Another key factor, especially now with the warm weather coming up, is the shoe feels so comfortable. You know when it's super hot you do not get these hot pressure points. It is so comfortable. It’s the only shoe in my whole career where I don't experience these hot pressure points.
And most of all– the classic style. These shoes are so fresh, so beautiful, so sexy, it's absolutely just class. I'm so happy to be riding these shoes because when I look down while pedaling on my bike, automatically I get moral because the shoes just look so good.”
