JUST IN: TPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) has arrested 27-year-old Jesus Nicholas Hoyos after he began communicating with a police decoy posing as an underage girl online. On May 7th, Hoyos initiated communication with a detective that was posing as a 14-year-old girl. Over the course of two days, the suspect detailed specific sex acts he wanted to engage in with the minor and sent nude images of himself. Arrangements were made for the 14-year-old to meet the suspect at a park to engage in sex acts. On May 9th, Hoyos arrived at the meet location at the scheduled time and was taken into custody by police. Jesus Hoyos was ultimately charged with Attempted Sexual Conduct with a Minor, Luring a Minor for Sexual Exploitation, and Aggravated Luring of a Minor. Parents and guardians are reminded to talk with their kids and teens about the dangers of online predators, monitor their social media activity and set parental controls.

BREAKING: A STUDENT AT CENTENNIAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ON TUCSON'S NORTH SIDE DIED AFTER BEING CRUSHED BY A METAL GATE. ACCORDING TO THE PIMA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, A NINE YEAR OLD GIRL WAS HELPING CLOSE A LARGE METAL GATE -- WHEN THE GATE DISCONNECTED FROM ITS SUPPORT AND FELL ON THE CHILD. THE CHILD WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL -- AND LATER DIED. P-C-S-D SAYS THEY'RE STILL INVESTIGATING AND WE'LL UPDATE YOU ON THE AIR AND ONLINE AS WE LEARN MORE.
