We are glad to announce that applications for the Mentor-Mentee program are now open. In the four weeks of this program, you will be partnered with a mentor to learn about the fundamentals of getting into the Machine Learning domain. Hurry up and apply! Limited seats only!
P.S: All the participants from the DS101 will be highly favored for this.
Drop your CV's at [email protected]
Thank you to all the participants for taking your time off on a Saturday afternoon to attend our physical event on Data Science 101. Also, a huge shout out to our core members, Yugant Ghimire, Manisha Bhandari, and Anita Baral for preparing an informative and helpful content on beginner-level data science and delivering it to the participants!
As a follow-up, we will be sending out an invitation to the participants (and the folks who registered, but could not make it to the event) on our Slack community so that you can continue on your journey to develop and improve your data science skills. Please, look out for an email with an invitation link to our Slack community.
Finally, thank you to King's College for providing us with the space and required resources to conduct the event successfully. Also, thank you to GirlsinTech Nepal Chapter and Women in Big Data Nepal for continually supporting our community.
Thank you to everyone who attended the online event on “Neural Architecture Search with Reinforcement Learning” on Sunday, August 28.
Thank you Sijan Bhandari for presenting such an interesting topic to the participants. We hope everyone who attended the session found the content insightful and helpful!
For those who could not attend the session or those who would like to refer to the event content again, we have uploaded the recorded video of the online event on our youtube channel.

We dive deep into the problems that first-time founders face while trying to launch new global products. Rushabh Sheth will share his journey to find a co-founder, figure out a problem statement, launch Docsumo, get initial enterprise customers in the USA, be accepted into Techstars, and raise funds. If you have ever dreamt about building your own company, this session is for you.

There is an obvious gap between the research & implementation of multi-object tracking. While the idea of multi-object tracking might have a multi-disciplinary application, the research for its evaluation is still lacking; which is also reflected in the industry where it is still a challenge to evaluate multi-tracking models. In this event by Siddhi Kiran, who is a Machine Learning Engineer at Leapfrog, talks about multiobject tracking, its use cases, types of errors in Multi-object tracking, challenges in evaluation, and evaluation of multi-object trackers using CLEAR MOT evaluation metrics.

In the context of Natural Language Processing for Nepali data, we generally face the problem of not having enough labeled training data, lack of huge computational devices for pretraining of language models. In this event by Sushant pudasaini, who is an AI team Lead at InfoDevelopers Pvt Ltd, talks about the current state of the art in NLP for Nepali data and how we can collectively tackle this problem and improve the state of art results in NLP tasks in the Nepali corpus.

AI models are getting better at doing things, but they are also getting larger, requiring expensive cloud servers to run. Using the cloud for inference also means there is an issue of privacy and latency, which cannot be ignored in some cases. In this event, Bibek, a research engineer at Nota Incorporated, talks about different model compression methods like pruning, matrix decomposition, and others to understand how compressed models solve the issues of privacy and latency that arise from using cloud servers for running AI models.
