Italy: In Q1 2024, utility-scale solar grows 373%.
In Q12024, the Italian solar industry added more than 1.7GW of solar PV capacity, a notable increase over the same time in 2023.
The largest rise, up more than 373% from Q1 2023, was seen in the utility-scale sector. During the first three months of this year, 579MW of new utility-scale PV was installed, as opposed to 123MW during the same period in 2023.
Eight new projects, all larger than 10MW were the main contributors to this growth.

Half of India's 70 GW of renewable energy tenders for fiscal year 2024 will come from Solar PV!!
This is a fourfold increase over 2023 when only 10GW of capacity was ultimately allocated, while 2024's capacity tender exceeded the government's 50GW target. It is anticipated that tenders will once more exceed the 50GW government cap in FY25, with capacity awards projected to rise even further.

In March, the EPBD Energy Performance of Buildings Directive was approved by the European Parliament.
The European Commission said each member state will need to reduce the average primary energy use of residential buildings by 16% by 2030 and 20-22% by 2035.
For non-residential buildings, member states will need to renovate 16% of worst-performing buildings by 2030 and 26% by 2033. However, historic buildings or holiday homes can be exempted from the obligations. Historic structures or vacation residences, however, may be free from the requirements.

By 2030, the floating solar market will reach $216 million, up 29.6% from now.
The global floating solar panels market was valued at US$ 35.1 million in the year 2023 and anticipates an expansion at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 29.6% during the forecast period from 2023 to 2030.

Photovoltaic (PV) floating systems are systems that are mounted on floating structures on the surface of a body of water, like reservoirs, canals, or even oceans. They offer several advantages over traditional land-based solar PV systems, including:
- Increased land use efficiency: Solar floating systems don't require land, which is a valuable resource in many areas. This makes them a good option for countries with limited land availability.
- Improved energy production: The cooler water environment can increase energy production from the solar panels. Additionally, the water surface can reflect sunlight back onto the panels, further boosting their efficiency.
- Reduced water evaporation: Solar floating systems can help to reduce water evaporation by providing shade to the water surface. This can be a significant benefit in areas with water scarcity.
- Reduced environmental impact: Solar floating systems can help mitigate the environmental impact of traditional solar PV systems, such as habitat loss and soil degradation.
