These homeowners had a honey locust removed, and rather than having the wood chipped or landfilled, they had the foresight to have it slabbed! We turned their slabs into this gorgeous solid counter and vanity. Now their tree gets a new purpose very close to where it lived!

Getting a massive white oak beam from Creative Log & Lumber milled up today! This will be a new mailbox post for us to replace the one that someone parked on top of at 5 this morning 😬 Any opportunity to get the kids into the shop to help out and learn is a great day! She helped muscle this 6x6x8’ beam through the jointer and planer! Thanks so much to Kenosha County Sheriff's Department for the great work getting this out of our wetlands this morning!

White oak coffee table delivered last week. Designed to match our previously made nightstands (last pic), it is made from the client’s own tree! A fantastic way to put this tree to a higher final purpose.

When a customer mentions that the cutting board their dad made needs a repair, we didn’t hesitate to accept! Our son repaired the broken piece, and sanded the whole board back down to reflatten it. A fresh coat of finish and new rubber feet have this beautiful board looking like new!

Check out this walnut kitchen island we did last year. Trash pullout, integrated power, soft close doors & drawers, and even slide out trays in the cabinets so you never lose that stuff at the back of the cabinet! Heavy duty steel supports for the quartz top allow for seating on the back without banging your knees into traditional supports.

White oak table getting ready to deliver to it’s new home! Lots of curves in our take on this classic American style, using urban lumber from Creative Log & Lumber & The Urban Wood Lab. What can we build for you?

Our absolute favorite type of project, turning a client’s beloved tree into furniture for their home. This Norway Maple grew about 20 feet away, and when lightning damage and old age required it come down, The Urban Wood Lab milled the tree into slabs. We were then able to turn the lumber into this beautiful bench, several cutting boards, and an upcoming project you’ll see soon!

The finishes touches going onto this stairway remodel. Locally sourced maple for all the handrails and trim, dyed black, with stainless steel rods.

One of my favorite days in the shop. I love watching the project come to life when the finish goes on.

I love spreading the winter’s sawdust pile and remembering all the projects. Maple, walnut, cherry, locust, ash, oak, all will spend the summer composting back into the soil to feed the burr oaks, hickory, cherry, and maple in our little patch of woods.

Check out these side tables that Erin designed to go with the pulpit we built a couple of months ago. Made from locally sourced walnut from southeast Wisconsin. Opposing arcs in the base structure to tie in the organic look of the original table’s steel base.
