A special approach has been followed by Delhi Metro for Phase 3, Delhi Metro would be using metallic girders rather than the usually used concrete ones. Around 40 metal girders were positioned covering 10 stretches with a section length of 290 meters. Due to the interlinking work metro services among Indraprastha Extension and Trilokpuri and on the other hand services from Mayur Vihar Phase -1 and Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 stations had been temporarily closed recently from 12 to 15 July. When the gap between Trilokpuri and Mayur Vihar is constructed, people from regions like Shalimar Bagh, Punjabi Bagh, Mayapuri, Delhi Cantonment, Sarojini Nagar, South Extension and Lajpat Nagar people can reach Anand Vihar and railway station directly and similarly When gap between Trilokpuri and Mayur Vihar is constructed, people from areas like Shiv Vihar, Maujpur, Jaffrabad, Welcome, Krishna Nagar, Karkardooma, Vinod Nagar, Mandawali Nizamuddinand Mayur Vihar can reach Nizamuddin Railway Station and Delhi University directly. Trilokpuri and Mayur Vihar are a part of the Pink Line which comes under Phase three of Metro. It is functioning in 2 parts 1) Majlis Park to Mayur Vihar 2) Trilokpuri to Shiv Vihar corridor.
The missing link between Mayur Vihar and Trilokpuri will be completed by July 2021.
