Rolling Fork, Mississippi, is a tight-knit community full of families. When the tornado tore through this town on Friday night, it left a path of destruction, including the homes of three generations of the Nichols family. Five family houses in total were completely destroyed.
Because of our partners, Hand of Hope, Joyce Meyer Ministries World Missions was able to team up with Mercy Chefs and God’s Pit Crew to bring some love and encouragement to the Nichols family and so many others.
While the Nichols were cleaning out their grandmother’s home, Mercy Chefs hand-delivered hot meals, and God's Pit Crew provided them with a Blessing Bucket filled with food, bottled water, emergency items, a Bible, and a Joyce Meyer book. Most importantly, the teams offered prayer and encouragement that God was with them and was going to help them through this difficult time.
The Nichols are a strong Christian family who, just weeks earlier, were on a mission trip in New Orleans serving the homeless. They now find themselves homeless, but in the midst of this devastation, they know their hope is in Christ.
Marlon Nichols, the patriarch of the family, is so thankful for His faith in Christ; he knows it will get him through this. This family that is so used to being on the other side of giving and helping others is now so thankful for people coming around to help them in their time of need.
