Ahoy there Fire Tribe! It’s been 3 years but many have felt the slow awakening pulse of Confest deep beneath the Earth. The tremor of drums in the distance is rising, Nature in all directions is calling you home. Yes. It’s time.
CONFEST is returning NEXT AUTUMN 2023, AT LONG LAST!

This is the moment we have all been waiting for! The returning of this transformative event will be a shock relief of reconnection, immersion, innovation, music, fun & FIRE. It’s time to shake off the static of regular routine & join your tribe at the FIRE CIRCLE.

We have plenty to play with. A whole new arena to build, a tribal bond to rekindle and when those rusty gates bust open- We have a life-changing experience to gift to all who flood on through. The Fire Village remains the Heart of Confest, so with the help of our 2023 Fire Circle Crew we can get the magic pumping again!

To kickstart the Arena we’ll need all the hearty volunteers we can get!

The Time Has Come!
Our Fire Tribe have been called upon to pour our fiery spirits into this years Alternative, Online Confest 2020.
I am rallying the troops- Anyone who can share their wisdom or performance on video, Live or Pre-recorded, our beloved Confest community will be accessing the Tribe Library for Tips & Tricks on how to DIY their own Backyard Flow-Toys, How to Spin them, Workshops on Fire-safety, Circus, Martial Arts, Dance- even Tradition Ceremony or Tribe Rituals. We have the honour of teaching others new inspiring skills when the Time is Now to practise them, or fuel a new passion.
This is our chance to give back to Confest, to Fire Up like we would be doing RIGHT NOW and sink into our most powerful element. Drums shaking the ground, Scorched sand under our feet, Trailing fire in every direction & The warmth of our Tribe cheering us into that beating heart of a circle every night.
We even have the honour of performing what we love most as part of the Ceremonial Opening of Online Confest.

Hello Tribe!

Thankyou for your patience in the space between Confest-Cancellation-speeches & This post! I know it’s a few days since we all heard but I thought it important to give the Topic time to be digested (Time to process it myself) & Time to come up with a new Plan of Action!

Firstly I want to shed more light on just HOW this decision came to be- This will be useful to all still

Yes it's official. It was made official by an advisory statement signed by our first aid department in response to the anticipated Corona Virus outbreak during the Easter period. This advisory statement advocating cancellation was carried by popular vote in our co-ops Confest Committee 17 members to 4. The decision was then given executive power by our board of directors who finally agreed to withdraw the event.

So for many of our beloved 2hr festival goers, this means you'll have about five days free over Easter. For those of you who planned to be on site with us at Set Up, you may have made alternative plans already...however-

THOSE STILL KEEN TO BE ON SITE @ EASTER
We have received the go ahead to continue infrastructure projects during Easter (much like an unofficial working bee). Myself, Shardae and Chris starcic and a few other facilitators are gauging numbers interested in helping us with the following areas:

REGEN PROJECT planting shrubs and trees, creating selective ecology zones, starting native beds, mulching and harvesting native seed for site distribution. Potential for a burn to be assessed.

HIVE CREATIVE PROJECT:
Finishing outer wall with mud, building portable plantar boxes for seasonal herbs, painting the flower pantry. Fixing broken chairs and tables. Building storage thingies.

CONFERENCE:
Meetings with all set up crews to discuss the future and sustainability of Confest, Down to Earth co-operative and our influence in the global agenda.
This is by far the most important project for us in my mind, one justifying your attendance even if no other project interests you. Confest as we understand it is in desperate need of greater represention to make relevant, informed, ethical decisions in response to politically led national crises. What are the values worth preserving in the face of economic collapse? What is Confest capable of? What is our potential to stabilise or catalyse necessary change? I will be providing all the sticky details of membership and our co-operative and how to navigate this entity long term tailoring to your personal time constraints.

Pending details from the next meeting on Thursday, Shardae (all interested Facilitators) & Myself intend to run Set Up as per usual, the only exception being I expect fewer numbers will need catering for and teams will focus on projects within their department instead of outfitting the site with facilities for 7 thousand people.

I will be contacting as many facilitators as I can this week. Please send me a message if you are a facilitator as I have been asked to also submit a set up facilitator impact statement.

You know what to do Tribe & Hive family. Get in contact about your plans for Easter and most importantly, take care and keep talking to eachother! I am contactable on messenger and I will do everything to support this community and the individuals in it. Tough times indeed only calls for longer hugs and bigger bonfires.

I would like to see Confest burst into our every day lives via micro gatherings, Workshops, Cyber meetups & Confest OUTBREAK parties. Let’s fire it up & have a few Tribe Fire Circles. Anything is possible. The magic of Confest is it’s people, not just the event.
