We are at Interview 8 of the Pot Smoking Moms Interview series and we are throwing it back to that Doctor Mike episode from 4 years ago! Early in our podcast days, only 23 episodes in, and in the middle of a global pandemic.
Dr. Michael J. McKenzie is a family medicine doctor in Hallandale Beach, Florida that has been in practice for more than 20 years. He has expertise in treating chronic diabetes, obesity, chronic high blood pressure, and he also specializes in cannabis care. We speak with Dr. Mike about the endocannabinoid system, legislation of recreational cannabis and the FDA process.
We hope you enjoy this oldie but goodie. Please excuse the sound. We were just getting use to recording on Zoom instead of together in the studio. There are a few connection issues and Dee sounds like she is in a submarine.
We will be bringing Dr. Mike back on the show soon. Let us know in the comments what questions you have about cannabis medicine and we’ll ask Dr Mike in his next interview with us. A lot has happened in the last 4 years with cannabis that we’re looking forward to hearing Dr Mike’s thoughts on.
In this episode Captain Jay comes back from her World Tour, and tells us all about her cruise experience; solidifying Dee’s anti-cruise stance.
Despite the weather and prohibition Jay finds a way to bring some green on board and take advantage of the ice cream bar.

Then we talk Teen Mom and how Janelle Evans was shown on a recent clip discussing having her own Cannabis brand.
Dee finally gives us the review we have been waiting for as she tells us about the disaster that is the Roadhouse re-boot with Jake Gyllenahaal.

In this episode we talk to The Green NP - Marena De Jesus about FlowGrowns new mushroom infused products, then
Marena takes us through her childhoods turning point and the events leading up to her getting dropped off at one of the world’s most abusive disciplinary schools for troubled teens.
She describes what it was like during her stay at Casa By The Sea and why even on home visits she never told her parents the truth about the abuse that many endured while attending.
Marena dives into factors she believes saved her from further abuse and a longer stay, she gives us disturbing details of the living conditions and the insurmountable rules enforced on the children attending. The most shocking part is that the troubled teen schools industry still runs and operates in different countries to this very day under the moniker: WWASP.
She discusses the parallels she drew from watching the Netflix documentary: The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping, and how her friends and family who she had told were able to fully understand and validate her experience after watching it.
We talk about the relationship with her Mother who had no idea what was really happening at the school she was paying to help her daughter, and how she approached telling her Father what really went down immediately after completing her time in the program.
This was a moving interview, we hope you enjoy it and keep the conversations going.
