I needed some hours to find the right words and recover from the tears I shed. This post might be full of typos, so sorry in advance.
Anne Rice passed away and the news devastated me. I read Interview with the Vampire when I was fifteen/sixteen, and the experience was life-changing. In the moment I finished reading The Vampire Lestat, I decided what I wanted to do in life. I’ve always been a creative kid, but I realised writing was my path after I fell in love with Anne Rice’s writing.
As a teen full of hopes and dreams, I wanted to be like her. I wanted to craft stories the way she did, create tormented characters shining in the darkness like she did. Time passed and I discovered new genres and authors I love, but my love for her work never died.
Today, she died. I didn’t know her personally and never had the chance to meet her, but her passing felt like the death of a relative. I started crying, and I’m struggling holding back tears even now.
If William Gibson is my main influence for Cyberpunk, Anne Rice is my main influence in writing as a whole. She shaped me as a writer, and my gratitude towards her is immortal like she became today.
Valerius would’ve never been born without Lestat. My stories would’ve never been born without Anne Rice.
I like to think she’s finally with Stan Rice now, her eternal love. It had to happen sooner or later, but I can’t help but thinking it was too soon anyway.
Thank you for your Dark Gift. You'll be deeply missed.
“You do have a story inside you; it lies articulate and waiting to be written, behind your silence and your suffering.”

QSFer Freddie A. Clark has a new q***r cyberpunk/grimdark book out, The Falling Feathers Series, Act I: The Harbinger of Freedom. Ace, bi, gay, le***an, non-binary, poly, trans ftm.
In the millenary world of Taenand, the continent of Empiria is oppressed by a fifty year lasting military dictatorship perpetrated by the Army of the Harpy, the leader of which is the young General of aristocratic descent Ludwig Maximilian Eckhale who inherited the throne and became the second Emperor of his Era.
In these challenging times, Valerius Raleigh, a young noble as the Emperor himself, takes on the mission to inspire his country to break its chains and free itself from the ever more raging tyranny, first becoming a symbol and a messenger of freedom, then building an army whose purpose is to take down the reign of terror and injustice which threatens to spread all over Taenand due to the ruthless ruler’s strategic mindset and powerful alliances.
The Harbinger of Freedom is the first act of the Falling Feathers Series, a crazy mix of blood, s*x, drugs, hacking, cybernetic augmentations, shamanism, fantasy creatures, artificial life and an overall retrofuturistic and cyberpunkish aesthetic. In this vast, complex world, liberty and self-determination play a pivotal role in the search for balance and justice for all, while the diverse characters are pawns in a gritty game of power, intrigues and violence in which there is no place for surrender or subjugation.
Warnings: Gore; physical, psychological and emotional abuse; mutilation; medical procedures; self-harm; social hatred; childhood trauma; substance addiction; prostitution; spiders; PTSD; warfare.

With this magnificent depiction of Valerius made by the outstanding Syd Mills (vetyyr on Instagram and Twitter), I'm glad to announce The Harbinger of Freedom is OUT NOW! 🎉
After almost 12 years since I started worldbuilding, after 5 years and an immense number of drafts, my Neon Fantasy vision came to life.
A gritty Adult SFF story set in a cyberpunkish world aesthetically inspired by the 80s, a story of rebellion against a tyrant, a fight for survival.
Divided in 4 parts, each one in a different setting and with different themes, my book mixes cybernetic augmentations, motorcycles, artificial life and cool weapons with fantasy creatures, different interpretations of spirituality and occult.
Cyberpunk and Dark Fantasy elements are mixed together in a weird story where warships, airships, cybernetics, biotechnology, bits of Decopunk, mysterious cults and Aerial Arts merge to give life to a vibrant world. No character is innocent, everyone has flaws, everyone has hopes and goals.
This book features a bi male protagonist in his late twenties; romance is not the focus, but q***r relationships and s*x scenes are present in the story.

Freddie A. Clark Author of The Harbinger of Freedom
I started writing book 2 😎
Can't wait to see my characters ruin my plans and do whatever the hell they want with the plot as they did in book 1 😂

You can't be a good writer if you're not an avid reader first, right?
I know, as a cyberpunk geek it’s shameful I haven't read Hardwired by Walter Jon Williams yet, but now that I've finished reading Our Bloody Pearl by D.N. Bryn I'll start immediately 😎
Have you read any of these books? Do you prefer speculative fiction with an adventurous, magical setting or a technological one?
🎉 BIG REVEAL 🎉
I’ve been working on a novel series for years, and the moment to publish the first act of this story is getting closer.
This August you’ll get caught in a war for freedom lead by Valerius Raleigh, a young man who took on the mission to free the continent of Empiria from the raging grip of the Army of the Harpy, a military regime that threatens to invade the colorful, odd, cyberpunkish and retrofuturistic world of Taenand.
