The 40's Project
Two "middle aged" country chicks, a microphone called "Ph***ic Phil" and some home truths about life
The joys of getting older!
Too good not to share 🤣
This was sent to us by a fellow “forty plusser”. I’m sure a lot of you can relate! 🤣
Cheers to you on your birthday young one! Ain’t your 40’s great? A decade of change and challenges but no doubt the best is yet to come! ❤️
Party on.. 🥴
In her own words;
Judi Dench
"Don’t prioritise your looks my friend, as they won’t last the journey.
Your sense of humor though, will only get better with age.
Your intuition will grow and expand like a majestic cloak of wisdom.
Your ability to choose your battles, will be fine-tuned to perfection.
Your capacity for stillness, for living in the moment, will blossom.
Your desire to live each and every moment will transcend all other wants.
Your instinct for knowing what (and who) is worth your time, will grow and flourish like ivy on a castle wall.
Don’t prioritise your looks my friend,
they will change forevermore, that pursuit is one of much sadness and disappointment.
Prioritise the uniqueness that make you you, and the invisible magnet that draws in other like-minded souls to dance in your orbit.
These are the things which will only get better."

We joined the Dull Women’s Club and feel right at home!
While Abbie relishes a Saturday night at home Melissa’s highlight is the daily Wordle.
We did manage a non-dull activity by hitting the Adelaide Oval on a scorching night to see Pink! A guilt ridden concert but what a show!
We touch on our highs and lows, take a trip down memory lane, swear a bit, make each other laugh and sip on Clare Valley wine as we bring you another episode of The 40’s Project.
Get it into your ears!

We took our beloved microphone Ph***ic Phil 🎙️ on a road trip to the beautiful Yorke Peninsula plugged him in and recorded our first episode for 2024.
Season Four starts off with a kicker as we chat about sweet and sour January.
This one is definitely not for young ears! It seems we had our holiday swear mode on. We’re off to clean our mouths out now. 🤭

🤣… It’s true! It really is my favourite! Belly laughing, talking s**t with my friend (and now business partner 😉) is the bomb.
We plugged in Ph***ic Phil and donned the headphones to punch out another podcast.
We hope to have it in your ears soon!
It’s a privilege denied to many, so embrace the wrinkles and saggy b***s ok? ❤️

We’re also missing Ph***ic Phil and hope to be back in your ears soon!
It’s been quite the adventure.
🤩The GSA website is only days away and we can’t wait to share some amazing stories with you from all corners of regional SA.
Connecting SA's country regions is our vision.
Providing FREE-TO-READ content, promoting the people and the places, as well as creating a more affordable and wider-reaching advertising space is our plan.
All we're asking fellow South Aussies to do is give it some love and watch it grow.

You know it does.
I’ve named mine Martha.
🤣
Well, I guess you could say there’s another store I will be avoiding for a while.
Went in to to grab some makeup wipes, took them up to the counter to pay.
As per my usual self I thought I’d make conversation and asked the clerk if she had ever tried them...she gave me an odd look.
So I continued on, saying I cook in a restaurant and feel greasy throughout the day so I like to freshen up.
Should've stopped talking at this point, but no.
Then I said, "it’s so handy to have these you can just whip them out and use them anywhere".
This whole time she never said a word, so I paid, told her to have a good day. Still no response.
Got home from work last night and took them out of the bag.
And that’s when I realized. OMG I’m mortified. I laid in bed thinking of everything I had said to this poor woman. 🤦♀️
So now I’m thinking should I go back and explain myself or find a new drugstore? 😩
