After a break for the start of the year Phil & Peter are back discussing what they've been up to over the past few weeks. What's kept them busy and what's in the pipe line for them and the podcast.
Hello fellow humans. We took a break from this throughout January as we have both been busy with projects, life and pandemics. (And we hate each other)
We’re coming back next Wednesday 10th February at 8.30pm. We’ll be taking about what we’ve been working on. The challenges of remote recording, the limitations involved, but also the advantages and overcoming and embracing the different way we all have to work.
We’ll both be letting you listen to some of the things we’ve been working on and as usual this will be open to questions and discussion. Also , we will be going over some new toys and plugins that we got with with our Mammies Christmas money.
Hopefully you can tune in and please get involved with the discussion, because that’s why we do this.
Thanks,
Hope you’re all well!
P&P 🙂

The 2 P's in a Podcast: Episode 5 Nathan O'Regan
Powered by Restream https://restream.io/
Nathan O'Regan, the wonderful songwriter/performer/podcaster and the person behind the hugely successful 'Songbook', a monthly night of live music celebrating talent from around the globe.
Like any artist worth their salt, Nathan has faced his own challenges. His voice and writing were spotted by Universal, who signed him at sixteen, recognising even at a young age Nathan's ability to write songs that would stop a listener in their tracks.
He was paired with producer, Jimmy Hogarth and tasked to record an album. Halfway through the project, as is often the case, contact from the label grew cold and the work never saw the light of day.
Universal’s mistake proved to be Ireland’s gain. Some artists capitulate after being dropped by a major label, but Nathan has gone from strength to strength, his talent impossible to ignore by anyone who has heard his songs or witnessed him lead his band.

Ber is a sound engineer and producer based in Dublin, Ireland. He began his career working in venues in his native Cork before moving to the capital to embark on a life of touring with acts such as John Grant, James Vincent McMorrow, The Divine Comedy, Villagers and Lisa Hannigan. Through his work in the orchestral scene, he has worked with Nils Frahm, Feist, Bryce and Aaron Dessner, Bill Frisell, My Brightest Diamond, Sampha the Great, Alexi Murdoch and worked on the European premiers of works by Thom Yorke, Owen Pallett and the Dessner brothers.
Equally appreciative of the scientific and the creative aspects of the job, Ber strives for clarity and power in his live mixes, whilst maintaining the artist's vision of what they want their live production to be. He prides himself on attention to detail regarding instrument blend and work closely with the conductor/artist, studying the scores in advance and ensuring the mix stands up to exacting standards.
Prior to Covid-19, this year was to bring tours with Damon Albarn, John Grant and The Divine Comedy but with all of that shelved, Ber has taken the opportunity of staying in Dublin to set up a streaming music studio as an extension of the studio that he runs in Stoneybatter. Recently, his studio work has included recording and mixing albums for The Divine Comedy, Lisa Hannigan and Stargaze and a small part of recording the National’s “I AmEasy To Find”.
