+How important the vocabulary is in communications?

Vocabulary and grammar are inextricably intertwined in communication; however, when we take a closer look, vocabulary competence is more important in achieving effective communication than grammar. Lexical errors hinder language learners in conveying the meaning in communications (Llach, 2011), which leads to misunderstanding. This misunderstanding will eventually hamper the flow of communication and cause communication breakdowns. Collocation and word choice are commonly found to be errors that are persistent in language production for some learners.

Let's understand TWO more types of criterion validity. They are concurrent validity and predictive validity.

Vocabulary knowledge is the cornerstone for the use of language and language learning (Schmitt, Cobb, Horst, &Schmitt, 2015). Holding certain level and qualities of vocabulary knowledge is one of the prerequisites for successful language learning. This indicated that lexical knowledge can predict learners’ language proficiency and academic achievement (Lin & Morrison, 2010). If so, what is the role of vocabulary in language learning?

+What is the role of trust in professional development, particularly in professional learning community?
-Trust allows professional learning activities flourish within schools as teachers feel safe from judgements and criticisms. This climate will enable teachers to be creative and innovative in their teaching and it also promotes collaborations amongst their colleagues.

+What qualities constitute trust in workplace and professional learning activities

When all teachers are empowered and encouraged to take risks of their work without any reprimanding of their mistakes, reflectively and empirically, the teachers are likely to feel secured and take a stance to innovate their teaching styles and techniques. However, some low-educated teachers somehow tend to feel unsupported from their superiors when they don't have enough teaching concepts, resulting in not having much confidence enough in teaching. To my conclusion, empowerment is great for strongly-motivated and well-trained teachers. If not, to a varying degree, they need to be further guided and coached by internal and external professionalization activities. So what's your thought?
