Matthew Heaven
Bespoke Woodcraft
A peek at the craftmanship behind Matthew Heaven's Cube Collection chess set entitled Castle Rock. Its characteristic unlevel surface is inspired by the concept of a ruined medieval fortress set atop a rocky headland on the English coastline - standing against sea and storm, and heavily contested in battles over centuries. See this and his other designs at www.matthewheaven.com (link in bio).

The Scottish Highlands Whisky Cabinet
From the same Cube Collection as the Castle Rock Chess Set, this wall-mounted showpiece is designed to be the main feature in an opulent private or public interior space. In this design, handcrafted wooden blocks work together to form a pixelized landscape which in turn displays its owner’s finest whisky.
On the top, the blocks create a mountain range as found in the Scottish Highlands, a breathtakingly beautiful area where some of the world's best whisky is produced. Beneath, a glass enclosure designed to create the effect of a loch (lake) in the Highlands, of which Loch Ness is the most famous, and home to the mythical monster “Nessie”. The piece has a secret compartment: An chilled drawer in which either ice blocks or whisky stones can be kept. See more at www.matthewheaven.com
