Obot Akara Local Government Council through the Students Bursary Program Committee is pleased to announce the launch of its online registration platform, designed to facilitate access to financial support for students across the globe.

On the June 4, 2024, I warmly welcomed the Verification Committee for Local Government Projects, led by the State Commissioner for Environment & Mineral Resources, Hon. Uno Etim Uno. The visit was part of the ongoing comprehensive evaluation of local government projects to ensure alignment with the state governor's developmental agenda.

I took them on an extensive tour of several key projects undertaken by the local government council. These projects included the rehabilitation of the Secretariat, the establishment of the Obot Akara Agro Research Center/Model Farm, renovations 2 no. 2 bedroom flats and construction of 2 bedroom flat at the Divisional Police Station in Nto Ndang, and the ongoing construction of an Ultra Modern Mini Sport Stadium, among other significant initiatives.

The Team Lead, lauded our remarkable achievements in translating Governor Umo Eno’s vision into tangible outcomes within just few months in office, described our performance as unprecedented and highly commendable. Hon. Uno further emphasized that the purpose of the Committee’s visit, as directed by Governor Umo Eno, was to verify the existence and progress of the projects reported in the Chairmen of Transition Committees' scorecards.

Earlier today, 15th of May 2024, I was accompanied by my members to the Palace of His Royal Majesty Okuku Uwa UMOH Adiaka, Ikpe Mbak Eyop, to pay homage to the revered Obot Akara Traditional Rulers.

It was an opportunity to expressed gratitude to the Traditional Rulers Council (TRC) for their continuous guidance and support in community affairs and to also advocate for peace and tranquility within the region, while emphasizing the importance of unity for progress and development.

This visit marks a strategic step towards strengthening the relationship between the local government and traditional leadership, fostering a collaborative effort towards the betterment of Obot Akara and its people.

His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno has completed the 160m Span Nto Ide - Ikot Amba Bridge with 800m Approach Road in Obot Akara LGA.

Yesterday 27th January 2024 I honoured the invitation by the political leader of Nto Edino Ward 111, Obong Stephen Dan to witness the Traditional Marriage between his daughter, Mrs. Victoria, and Michael Ansalem at Nto Obio Iwok village, Obot Akara L.G.A.

Congratulations once again to the couple as I pray for divine blessings and a fruitful marriage filled with love and prosperity.

Earlier today, myself and my dear wife alongside other top government functionaries attended the funeral service of Late (Elder) Prince Uwemedimo Etim Ntekpere at Ikot Ukpong, Obot Akara LGA.

The funeral service was conducted by the Methodist Church Nigeria, Mbiaso Diocese.

May the soul of late Elder Prince Uwemedimo Etim Ntekpere rest in eternal peace.. Amen.

Yesterday Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Council Secretariat, Nto Edino, I assumed office as the Transition Chairman and I received a handover note from the immediate past administration led by Lady Agnes Udoenwenwen, entrusting the Obot Akara Local Government Council and its affairs to me and members of the Transition Committee.

Obot Akara Local Government Area will continue to sink and swim in the Arise Agenda of Pastor Umo Eno for a transformative era under my leadership.

Dear Obot Akara People,

On Thursday, December 07, 2023, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, I was inaugurated as the Chairman of Transition Committee for our dear Local Government by His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State and I later proceeded to inaugurate other members of the Committee at the Obot Akara Local Government Secretariat, Nto Edino.

I want to specifically thank God Almighty and our amiable and peace-loving Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, who has found me and all of us worthy to serve our people.

I am also grateful to the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development & Sports, Sir Monday Ebong Uko, immediate past council chairman, Lady Agnes Udoenwenwen, ward leaders, royal fathers, youths and other stakeholders of Obot Akara for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.

This is a call to service, an opportunity to consolidate on the gains of past administration in the Local Government Area. And on behalf of the entire members of the Transition Committee, I solicit the support, prayers and encouragement of all sons and daughters of Obot Akara Local Government Area.
