This rustic contemporary chandelier features 4 dimmable lights recessed into a handmade reclaimed wood beam. The wood was treated with a Japanese technique called shou sugi ban, where the wood is charred and sanded, creating a high contrast appearance that enhances the woodgrain.

End grain cutting boards are more superior than side or face grain cutting boards when it comes to retaining a sharp cutting edge on your knives and leaving obvious cut marks. The reason for this is the knife edge is cutting between the wood fibers and not along the fibers. The end grain fibers return to form after being cut into, making the surface more scratch resistant.
Look out for a post later this week if you are interested custom-designing your end grain cutting board.
