South Indian Tomato rice .. ....South Indian style Tomato Rice with lots of spices! This is favorite way to make tomato rice, it tastes so good with pickle and a side of yogurt! It’s also known as Thakkali Sadam in Tamil......
INGREDIENTS
3 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp cumin / jeera
½ tsp urad dal
½ tsp chana dal
1 inch cinnamon / dalchini
4 cloves
few curry leaves
few cashew / kaju
1 onion, finely chopped
1 green chilli, slit
¼ tsp ginger paste
5 big size tomato, finely chopped
½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp mint / pudina, chopped
2 cup rice, cooked
2 tbsp coriander, finely chopped
INSTRUCTIONS
firstly, in a large kadai heat 3 tsp oil and splutter tempering.
also, saute few cashews until golden brown.
add 1 onion, 1 green chilli, ¼ tsp ginger paste and saute well.
now add tomatoes and saute until tomatoes turn soft and mushy.
add chilli powder, salt and 2 tbsp mint leaves.
saute and cook for a minute.
furthermore, add 2 cups cooked rice and mix gently.
cover and simmer for 5 minutes to absorb all masala.

........About 2 tbs oil is all that we need to make these yummy sesame toasts..... Ingredients -----Oil
1 tsp jeera
3-4 cloves of galic
A small piece of ginger
Sesame seeds
1 small finely chopped onion
2 medium sized
potatoes boiled
Salt per taste
1/2 tsp Haldi
(Turmeric powder)
1 tsp Dhaniya powder
(Coriander seeds)
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp kashmiri red chili powder
Water
Coriander leaves
1 tbs maida,
some salt and
some red chilli powder
(To make the slurry)
Bread slices
Method
Take 1 tsp oil in a pan,
keep it at medium flame
Add 1 tsp jeera
(cumins seeds)
Add a pinch of hing powder
(asafoetida)
Add 3-4 cloves of garlic chopped
Add a small piece of ginger grated
Once garlic gets mildly cooked,
add 1 small finely onion chopped
Add 2-3 finely chopped green chili
Add 2 medium size potatoes boiled
Add salt per taste
Add 1/2 tsp haldi,
1 tsp Dhaniya powder (Coriander seeds),
1 tsp garam masala
Roast a little you will get nice fragrance
Add 1 tsp kashmiri red chili powder
Add few drops of water so masalas
don't get burnt
Now add mashed boiled potato
Now switch off the flame
or make it very slow
Add chopped coriander leaves
Now let mixture cool down.
Now make a thin slurry of Maida,
salt and red chili powder
In stead of 1 spoon Maida,
you an take Besan too On bread slices,
apply tomato kethup or
any chutney of your liking
Spread the potato mix that we have made on it
Now drizzle the maida slurry on the bread
And then make a layer of sesame seeds,
press with hands gently
so that they get stuck on the surface of potato
You can now chop the bread slices
to make thin fingers or
keep the entire toast and cook too
now shallow fry on both sides with 2 tbs oil
first the sesame seeds side
and then the other side and your sesame toast is ready....enjoy this with your favourite chutney
