Sugar Demon Doll Customs

Making these ribbon ruffles by hand with a limited number of pins 😅 idek if im gonna use them since I'm making this dress without a proper plan

Edit: I sewed these onto the bottom hem of the dress and after looking at it for longer than 5 minutes I DID NOT like it so I'm gonna brainstorm something else. I might be able to salvage the ruffles for something though? Perhaps a parasol?

Capelet 80% done gonna make a hood for it and a closure of some sort and add some thin ribbon lines going from each point

So since the vampire heart Draculaura got... "released" very hamfistedly (classic mattel, fumbling their drops as usual) I've been thinking about doig a custom in that vein on a G3 Drac base, I'm thinking big ballgown, all black hair, gothy makeup. Black velvets, silks and lace if i can thrift any

I haven't gotten much further than that yet though cus G3 dolls are still full price here in the UK (dolls genuinely do not go on clearance here, they stay full price until they're discontinued, then you're lucky if they go down 10% before theyre pulled from shelves completely :'))

There truly isn't a point to this post besides "i might do this at some point" and a slight vent @ buying dolls here

Edit: i just realised I don't like the vampire heart Draculaura having white sleeves and a pair of leggings under the dress. It's very disjointed from the aesthetic of the outfit.

Pokemon Sun/Moon is legit the only pokemon game I've ever played fully and boy howdy do I love the antagonist, Guzma.

Obviously, this isnt a 1:1 recreation of his in game model, but my own interpretation. I would have loved to find a better head sculpt (with a stronger nose specifically, but mattel are cowards and never give their dolls big noses) but Hunter Huntsman is a pretty alright base!

My partner got me a life size cutout of WWE wrestler Drew McIntyre for my birthday and he came with a smaller, perfectly doll scale cutout too. He really fits in with the gang

I'm not saying I dyed my hair to match Skulltimate Secrets Draculaura BUT...

My "sorta skullector" Hellraiser custom is done!
I had a pretty clear idea of how I wanted her to look and i think I nailed it

her outfit is 3 seperate peices, a strapless bodysuit ina matte pleather material, a three panel skirt in a pvc type material and a pointy shoulder, oversized spade sleeve turtleneck bolero

the doll itself is a catrine body witha CAM witch head and many many layers of watered down white acrylic

Some work in progress bits for this Hellraiser custom! This fabric is a little bit of a nightmare to work with since it sticks to itself, but at least I don't need to pin anything in place while I'm sewing it together 😆

All that's left is the corset belt and adding smaller details

Had two customs on the go the last 2 days!

Turned my CAM Witch into Pinhead because I loved the bump in her nose, put her on a catrine body and now I just have to dig out my faux leathers for the robes. I painted over the green vinyl with about 7 or 8 layers of thinned white acrylic and then held my breath to do her face

The Frankie is sorta like... my version of what the child of the bride and frankensteins monster would look like, shes going to get a flowy, tattered sheer dress sorta like the brides but in black. I would love to get the bride of frankenstein set to add this custom to but one can dream. I used freak du chic frankie as the base cus the gentle hand molds are my absolute favourite and I feel like they fit the vibe of the character I am trying to make

So my friend and I are dressing as Frankie and Draculaura for a fancy dress in June and I couldn't NOT make her Frankies Iconic earrings 💀

I used the heads of two MH doll brushes and some chain I had lying around, painted them blue and threw some glitter on them cus I love sparkle ✨️

Well that was fiddly! Managed to fix Operettas hair up pretty well! I just wanna get some strong hair gel to keep the style but not bad for a first attempt at doll sized victory rolls 💅💅💅

Y'all i found a near complete basic operetta in vinted for £25! Shes just missing her mask and her hair needs restyling but other than that she's in great condition! Lucky find since I see sellers asking for around £90~ for her!

alright! here's a printout of the doll scale comics I've made, and a how-to guide that I can only hope is easy enough to follow!

things you will need:
a printer
scissors
double sided tape or glue stick (I used double sided tape so that the pages don't warp from regular glue)
wide clear tape (optional, but i used it to give the front/back covers a gloss effect)

1. print the comics out on a regular A4 (also known as 'letter' in the US) sheet of printer paper

2. cut the individual comics out in one piece, I left a bleed area for the covers in case the pages end up stuck together a bit wonky

3. fold the pages accordion style, as shown in the photo!

4. I stuck the blank sides of the front cover ( 2) and first page (3) together, then pages 4 to 5 and 6 to 7

5. fold panel 1 back to cover the blank side of page 8, then tape/glue them together and trim the excess

6. optional: I used the wide clear tape at this stage, sticking it down while the comic was folded shut so that it keeps the shape

7. repeat two more times and voila, you have doll sized powerghoul comics!

Alright I have 4 days off work now! I'll make those print out sheets for the comics and the window frames for anyone who is interested

Been working on some themed backdrops for my G3 collection! I designed some windows and had my friend use her cricut to cut them out of matte black vinyl, and Ive made some little power ghoul comics that have the inner pages!

My three themes are Clawdeens G3 bedroom, a cafeteria and a student lounge type room

Long time no post!

So I ended up rerooting G3 Clawdeen entirely and here is the end result, except I also trimmed it into a bob that I kinda hate 😅 i should have just left it!

I ised two shades of purple and a nice chocolate brown nylon, and boy howdy is nylon soft and a nightmare to make stay how you want it to, but alas, it has been a learning curve.

If I use nylon again it'll be for a project where I just wanna keep the hair straight and loose. Yes I already have a project in mind. But more on that later!

Found a near complete Haunted Twyla on vinted and whe she reived she had the WORST glue seepage Id ever felt. The pi tures dont do it justi e at all, her hair was legit hard and unmoving at the first inch from her scalp

I didnt think it'd be salvageable tbh! But got her hair fluffy and soft again with, of all things, oxy powder! It was all I had in the cupboard but I used a ratio of 1/4 oxy powder, 1/4 dish soap and 1/2 hot water and it did the trick! I didnt even restyle the curls they just dried like that

Someone in an MH group asked me why I gave him this side glance and I said I had no reason BUT IT WAS A LIE HEHE HOHO 🤭🤔🐍💗🦇don't come for me. My favorite colours are green and pink, I was destined to love these two together.

Y'all I love this G3 Deuce sculpt so much.

So my Deuce had his eyes printed a TINY bit too high so he's getting a face-lift. His right foot was also, somehow, put on at a slight angle so it loos like he broke his ankle! Not much I can do about that unfortunately, but this Deuce is getting a little makeover.
I also took th earring off a G1 Deuce and drilled a hole in this ones ear so he can wear it

I got some decent shelves finally! My collection isn't as rare or big as others but I like what I have, Spectra is a fave and I'm looking forward to her G3 reincarnation

I'd also like more Venus' and Operetta, but ngl my interest in collecting G1 has plummeted since G3 released.

And I finished the little couch! I put Deuce and Drac on it bc G1 stands don't fit them (I don't have any G1 boy stands either) and I low key kinda ship them now.

Also I have a small Shadow High collection for the same reason, as a "goth" in real life, I only want the alternative looking ones and when Shadow High was announced I was really hoping they'd be alternative subculture based as a foil to the more mainstream style of Rainbow High, but alas. Side note: SH series 2 is an incoherent mess. That's my hot take 🤭

Got some foam board the other day and decided to make a lil gothy couch for my G3 dolls.

Pink fabric is from a shirt I thrifted ages ago and the black trim is a shoe lace I found in my scrap ribbon bag, need to figure out how to make the legs though cus they need to be tall to compensate for MH having disproportionately long shins!

G3 Lagoona Blue thoughts! 🐟

I wasn't the biggest fan of the update to Lagoona but the longer I've had her the more she's grown on me

🐟 Face: 9/10 not sure how I feel about the forehead scales, but I got a pretty good screening on this one so I'm not gonna mess with it. She's cute af but I think I might change her lip colour to a cooler tone

🐟 Hair: 8/10 the curls did not feel great! Love the accesories, especially the black urchin like thing for her ponytail

🐟 Body: 9/10 again, love the new sculpts and extra articulation, but for some reason her right wrist is very flimsy and loose and I miss the hand webs!

🐟 Colour story: 7/10 there is TOO many different shades of pink here for a character with "Blue" in their name. And I, like many others, cannot help but wonder why on earth she is pink now. The streaks in her hair don't match anything either

🐟 Outfit: 9/10 honestly it's cute and it looks comfy AND sporty which I think matches her personality well, I love the little ruffles on the shorts that look like fish fins, and her platform sandals are cute. Not too keen on the second swimsuit outfit, the colours don't go with anything

🐟 Accesories: 7/10 the little snack bags are always cute, but I think my box of goldfish crackers was misprinted. Her bag is almost painful to try getting into and doesn't hold everything she comes with. Her phone I had to fix with gel nail polish as the black print on the front was literally peeling off as soon as I unboxed it.

🐟 Pet: Neptuna is a sharptoothed piranha on the box art, but a hamster cheeked betta looking fish in physical form. Still cute but I think the face on mine was misprinted as her eyes don't line up with the eye mould at all.

Alterations I made:
- boiled and trimmed her ponytail and tied her bangs into it underneath
- gave her a G1 lagoona "shirt" underneath her hoodie

The stars aligned! I did some artwork for my friend a while ago and he's ordered me a Ghoulia from his local Target as payment and he's gonna mail it over 👏

G3 Cleo De Nile thoughts! 💎

Honestly I was surprised at how much I love this doll, Cleo was never my favourite of G1 for some reason, but this new design is just super pretty!

💎 Face: 10/10 literally no complaints, but my screening was a tiny bit wonky, but I can live with it cus it's not that noticeable. Other than that she's a beaut.

💎 Hair: 6/10 feels a bit greasy despite being washed, lovely colour blend. BANGS would have been a great choice! Iconic, even!

💎 Body: 11/10 absolutely love the G3 sculpts. Their joints feel 100% sturdier than G1. Controversial opinion but I really like the texture of the mummy wraps on her left arm and right leg

💎 Colour story: 9/10 the teal/deep blue and gold is *chef kiss*, let down only by the red toes of her bulky boots.

💎 Outfit: 9/10 let down by the jacket not fitting well over the dress sleeves. the boots were not the nicest, obviously they were aiming for a bandage like design but they were just not executed well. Actual fabric boots would have been a better idea for that

💎 Accesories: 9/10 her bag actually holds most of the extras! love the little canopic jar, it's very cute (as long as you ignore what they were actually for 😅)

💎 Pet: I never had a G1 Cleo with Hissette so I don't really have an opinion! Tut is very cute though and reminds me of my chihuahua. I do find it amusing that she had a pet snake when the real Cleopatra passed away from a snake bite 😳

Alterations I made:
- trimmed those bulky boots down to ankle boots and it was an immediate improvement!
- Added some elastic to her headband so it stays on after the little plastic ties have been removed
- given her a side braid to kep her hair neat
- painstakingly removed all the tinsel from her hair because I just do not enjoy the look or feel of tinsel hair

Got Clawdeen yesterday and unless I can get my hands on Ghoulia, the OG lineup is complete!

I do not enjoy Clawdeens hair at all! I thought people were exaggerating! I'm more than likely gonna reroot her with dark brown and purple

In other news I'm off to get my first tattoo today at the ripeold age of 27

I will make posts about my thoughts on G3 Lagoona n Cleo when I am actually free during daylight hours so I can get good pictures. Good old winter making the sun set right as I get out of work 👍

But for now here is a peek at some art I started 👀👀👀 may or may not be a lil... reinterpretation of a certain Valentines 2 pack...

I caved and bought the Amazon exclusive Deuce and the SH costume party Demi Batista off US amazon cus neither are available in england :')

They should be here next week and I don't know who I'm more excited about! I'm definitely going to alter Demi's face though cus... those white eyelashes are not it 😅

Some WIP shots from today. I've been coughing every five minutes thanks to a throat infection but all I have left to do for this is putting a different fabric in the front split and attach the sleeves, which I am about to do!

If it wasn't obvious, I'm doing a Morticia, her hair is arriving tomorrow, then I'll be starting her face! I've been after a Headless Headmistress base for this custom for her cheekbones and tall body, and I got one on vinted (plus the horse but his leg snapped in transit)

Throwback to the first piece of doll clothing I ever made back at the start of 2022, it's a mesh peasant sleeved, ruffle collared, flared tails goth coat and I was so proud of it! I made the pattern up as I went, but I did make templates for it

I absolutely love the silhouette of this coat but over time the faux leather has started to crack and I feel like I might have to remake it in a sturdier fabric

I don't even have the Draculaura Gorganizer yet but will that stop me from converting it into a coffin bed? No!
