Indian Laurel and Claro Walnut.

Myrtle Peppermill
About 10” tall with mechanism and 2-1/2” wide.
Finished in homemade lacquer then Acks paste and wax.
Wish I had a local source for this lumber in NJ.
Really nice to turn and finish.

I used a piece of wood from the “I may need it someday” pile. Lol

Finished up this morning. Thought I’d try something new.
Highly figured Maple with a blue beaded inlay.
Approx 7-1/2” X 2-1/2”.
Sanding sealer, burnished with shavings then Acks paste and wax. Put some plastic polish on the inlay.

Plum wood natural edge bowl.
About 8” wide and 3-1/4” tall
Typical cracking and damage needed some attention.
Finished with several coats of homemade lacquer.

Finally got some lathe work in today. Been making so many Christmas ornaments lately I could decorate the Rockefeller tree.

Ambrosia Maple candy dish.
6” wide and 3” tall.
Maple cuts so nice. Has some shimmer to it as well. Finished with homemade lacquer, Acks friction polish and wax.

Someone likes Turtles.

Thought I’d give the new Longer laser a try.

Enjoying the weather in Ocean Grove NJ. Going to leave an honor box and go fishing. Oceans 50 yards away.

Turned a couple pepper grinders tonight. Particularly fond of Myrtle. Turns easily even when dry. Finished with a friction coat of lacquer and wax.

Neighbor left me a present. He had to cut down an old elm.

Going to need a bigger lathe.

Finished up a cherry fruit bowl.
Gave me all kinds of trouble and fought me the whole turning process.
Victory was mine.

Finished up a bowl this morning. Had a couple cracks so I put in black epoxy to fill.
3 coats of 2.5lb cut lacquer and finished with Acks friction paste and wax.

Somebody wanted a pink pen

Another day…another pen.
Desert Ironwood fountain pen.

1st fountain pen. Used a stabilized box elder burl for a classier look.

I think I may need help. Is there a pen makers anonymous?
