Hey all - been a bit sparse with the posts, as I am slammed both with building, and building something new for 2022. But have a few new things popping into the store coming up. First is a request a lot of people have made - Micro Temps Utile, in Matte Black Aluminum (if you have one of my uO_Cs, it's a twin!). 8hp, loads of time-based utility, with 7 modes, 2 trigger inputs, 4 cv inputs, 6 outputs (1 a DAC for fun tricks) and more. A few people asked me if I am going to make T-Shirts, but I had been too busy to do a design. I finally asked my kid to sort it out last night, and she came up with this today. Will have these up in a couple of weeks on the store or directly from me here. Going to make stickers as well to include in the module boxes.

I was surprised it took so long to be asked this, but someone took the front panel off one of my modules and asked why it has “Charleston Chews for everybody!!!” written on the pcb, hidden where nobody can see it.

The answer is that my kid had (and still has) dozens of stuffed animals, and instead of reading bedtime stories, I had this years-long soap opera I would make up every night as I put her to bed, in which all the teddy bears had different parts and plotlines. There was one that was called Pantoonie (a riff on her beloved Pantone swatch books), and he was endlessly running for mayor of the town this soap opera took place in, with his only real policy being that he would give Charleston Chews to everyone if elected. And that was his catchphrase on this circuit board.

Pretty much everything I make has the name of one of these characters on, with a few hidden catchphrases on some (some buried too deep to discover). I just liked the idea of that little part of our lives being tucked away in the studios of musicians around the world.

Note: taking apart a module could possibly void your warranty - but most of the names are on the back anyway.
