Absolutely obsessed with how cute these hats are 😍
I’ve just added a whole drop of scrunchies to my Etsy shop. Loads of beautiful vintage and patterned fabrics - perfect stocking fillers!
I’ve got just a handful of these masks left. Hand dyed and £1 from the sale of each masks goes to Coppafeel charity.
Each one is unique and don’t forget - when they’re gone, they’re gone!
It’s that time of year again! I’m back with my cork wreaths and centre pieces!
Here’s a few of the ones I’ve got available at the moment - 2 large and a mini.
They’ll be going up on Etsy soon but for now DM if you’d like one!
Okay so I hate to mention the C word but it is getting towards the time of year where you might need to wear a bobble hat.
I’m a bit shorter on time than last year so if you would like to order a hat in time for Christmas please get in touch ASAP so I can fit you in.
Absolutely love this fabric 💙🤍🖤
IT’S CATURDAY!
Apologies that it’s been so long. I’ve been so busy lately that it gets to Sunday and I suddenly realise I’ve already missed Saturday. Anyway, this is Tunnock. I feel like they’re one of those posh floofy cats. Not just your standard moggy but also a bit rubbish at hunting. Very cute though and would definitely stroke
Here’s two masks I made recently. The blue brown stripe has been so popular and is one of my favs. The blue heart is a recent addition to the fabric archives, it’s very limited but it’s really light and breathable and such a cute pattern too! (I’m quite tempted to make some hair bands from it too, what do you think? 🤔)
So chuffed with how these bespoke Mr & Mrs wedding masks came out.
His matched his tie & pocket square and hers is adorned with off cuts from the dress.
Hopefully they won’t be necessary for much longer but if you’re getting married soon and need some masks get in touch!
It’s CATURDAY!
And this week I present to you Hungry Pete. I think after a year long lockdown we can all relate to this chonky boy a wee bit
Made a Baby Yoda hat for this little cutie 😍
I won’t be adding it to my Etsy shop but get in touch if you’d like one as I’ve still got more of this yarn. Available in any kids side from 0-5 years
Today I painted some wrapping paper. I’ll share some of the characters with you over the next few weeks and first up is Rufio.
RU-FI-OOOOO!
Just a quick note to say that although I know lots of makers have stopped selling masks & I don’t post about them much anymore, I will continue to make face masks to order for as long as anyone needs one.
I’ve got loads of fun fabrics so get in touch if you fancy refreshing your supply!
IT’S CATURDAY!
Today’s sleepy kitty is a reflection of exactly how I’m feeling right now and probably how I’ll spend a lot of tomorrow. I went for that just woke up squint - what do you think?
CATURDAY CATURDAY CATURDAY! (I hope you’re singing a theme tune in your head too!)
Here’s the first full body cat to appear in my sketch book. What would you call him?
Loving this matchy mummy daughter scrunchie combo ❤️
I’ve got a whole massive drop of all sorts of lovely scrunchies in the works so keep your eyes peeled! 👀
It’s a bit silly, but we could all do with a bit more silly in our lives.
I’ve been really enjoying experimenting with painting cartoon animals recently so I thought I’d start sharing some of them with you on what shall now be known as CATURDAY
I love seeing pictures from my customers. Here’s one of my masks which made it all the way to Paris!
Tag and share pictures of wherever you go in yours!
I’ve really been enjoying painting recently, trying allsorts of things.
It was my mum’s birthday yesterday and she’s really into photographing birds at the moment so I thought I’d paint one of her photos. The Blue Tit.
HAPPY EASTER!
Hope you’re all having a lovely long weekend enjoying the sunshine, eating chocolate and staying safe whilst seeing family and friends 🐣 🐰 🍫
Day 31 of : Looking Forward
Here’s something I whipped up for a birthday card recently combining my love of gardening and painting. Going forward I’m hoping to produce more artworks as cards, prints & originals and planty products.
Hope you’ve all enjoyed getting a little bit more insight into me and my shop this month!
Day 30 of : Range
As I’ve been building my shop it’s just been a collection of things I enjoy making, which is no bad thing!
As I grow and progress I’m hoping to create some thematic collections and develop a core range of items to make the shop a bit more cohesive.
What do you think? What would you like to see more of?
Day 29 of : Reel
I was hoping to be a bit further through some new projects by the time this prompt word came around and be able to share them but alas.
And so I thought I’d share the reel I made for the making my b**b inspired tie dye fabric - there’s still a couple of bits available in the fabric with a donation being made to Coppafeel!
Day 28 of
I did a little bit of painting this weekend which was so nice! I’ve got so many ideas for things I want to paint so I’m hoping to have more time in the next few weeks to do some experiments 🎨
Day 26 of : Favourite
My favourite thing varies all the time but I have to say I love, love, love this hat! I’m obsessed with the colour and the yarn is just so soft 😍
Day 25 of : Starting Point
It really depends on what I’m making but most things start with me day dreaming, either whilst out for a run or in the middle of the night. If it’s something sewn I spend a lot of time visualising it’s construction and how I’ll make a pattern.
I’ve also got these two notebooks : the watermelon one is my crochet notebook, it’s where I develop and write all my patterns and then when I’m making pieces it’s where I note down my sizing and keep track of my progress. The second note book is for scribbling ideas I’ve got for things I want to draw or paint. You can see my first late night biro scrawl which I turned into a Lino print this Valentine’s Day
Day 24 of : Wrapped & Packaged
Something I’m so chuffed with is my stickers I use on my wrapping. I made the decision not to get branded ones printed but instead I hand paint and stamp them myself meaning each one is totally unique.
Here’s a few of my favs, can you spot yours?
Day 23 of : Jobs
As well as being a maker and running this shop, I’m also a freelancer in the TV industry. As you can imagine, like most industries, work ground to a halt during lockdown 1 and I found myself eligible for neither furlough nor SEISS so I turned my focus to H.U.T.H. and expanded it from previously only making wreaths at Christmas.
The first picture is of me at work before the pandemic, and the second is me at work today working on a new podcast series 👩🏻💻 (yes, I’m in my bedroom, pandemic life is weird)
Day 22 of : Hands On
I’m very grateful to my hands and all the wonderful things they help me make but they don’t half take a battering sometimes. I’m always snapping my nails, accidentally cutting myself with my rotary cutter, getting covered in ink and paint, not to mention all the hand washing and sanitising! And then there’s the time when I stained them pink when I was tie dyeing my b**b fabric...
Day 21 of
Here’s a snap of an extra special garland I made recently. I just love these garlands, sometimes it’s the most simple thing that can bring joy into a space or brighten your day 💜
Day 20 of
There’s no prompt word at weekends so today I’ve given myself the word : Limited
All of the fabric I use is vintage or reclaimed and so I only have it very limited amounts and when it’s gone it’s gone.
I’ve only got enough fabric left for one more of these eye mask and scrunchie sleep sets so if you’ve got your eye on one you better be quick!
Is there any of my other fabrics you’d like to see available as scrunchies or eye masks?
Day 19 of : Silver Linings
I guess you could say my silver lining of lockdown was having the time to channel my creativity and build this shop. Or that the silver lining is all of you supporting me, buying my crafts, following my socials and liking my posts. Either way I couldn’t do it without you so thank you!
Day 18 of : Colour
Can you guess what my favourite is? 💛
Day 17 of : Process
I decided I wanted to make myself some snuggly socks and so like with all my crochet projects I had a browse of patterns online for inspiration, think I know better and just make it up, learn lots and realise I can make it better and then undo it all, start again and write up my pattern as I go. It does mean it takes me a while to make the first one of anything but I can’t leave something not quite perfect!
(This is the sock I’m about to undo)
Day 16 of : From The Archives
The first things I made for my shop were my cork wreaths but I’ve shared some pictures of those recently so here’s the very first mask I made which was just before I decided to start my Instagram page.
Since making that mask I’ve made god knows how many of them, learnt some lessons and gotten much faster at making them (and made the elastics much longer! 😂)
