The Classic Valuer
It’s how you know the price and price trend for (almost) any classic car in the world
It’s a rare thing for a restoration to deliver a positive ROI
This W111 was restored not long after its sale in 2021. It sold again in November this year for 125% more (a $247,000 price jump)
The work carried out included a re-spray, interior and engine overhaul, rebuilt brakes, gearbox work and more.
Do you think the owner came out on top or did the resto cost more than the $247,000 price rise?

Which of the two Wolf of Wall Street Countach movie cars would you have gone for?
The crashed car reached a high bid of $1,350,000 but failed to meet reserve. With commission added in it would’ve gone for $1,552,500
That’s only $100,000 short of the non-crashed car which sold on Friday evening
Differences between them are clear to see but also include how long they appeared on screen for - given prices were near enough the same - what would be your pick?

sold this L322 for £33,002 in July this year
It was positioned as “believed to be Ex-HM Queen Elizabeth II” car. Plenty of evidence pointed towards the late Queen having owned and used the car - but there was no smoking gun. No picture of the late Queen and the car with reg plate visible.
Until now, have sourced a video of the late Queen driving the car with the number plate visible.
The estimate now sits at £50,000 - £60,000
That’s a price bump of between £20,000 - £30,000 thanks to the video being found

Although this doesn’t impact classic cars directly it is hugely significant ⬇️
It reflects a softening of approach from the Government on their approach balancing net zero and cost of living pressures
Classic cars were always vulnerable to a tightening of net zero policy - this is a loosening of policy. That noise around the necks of classic cars is about to get a lot looser.
I find myself near weekly turning my computer screen to my partner as another news headline points to the Government softening their approach, “it’s coming…”
She’s sick of me saying it.
But here it is “it’s coming”.
We’ve done a detailed YouTube video on the environmental impact of classic cars vs electric vehicles if you’re interested in the numbers too.
