We represent a diverse coalition of progressive Democrats who believe that everyone – no matter who you are or where you come from – deserves a San Francisco that provides good paying jobs, great public schools, safe and reliable transit systems, and clean air and green spaces. An inclusive and thriving San Francisco isn't just for those who are well off - it’s for everyone.
As our neighbors and communities continue to suffer from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, we recognize that coming together as San Franciscans and Californians is the best way to protect our most vulnerable communities and rebuild from this disaster. The pandemic has exposed and exacerbated the systemic inequities that our diverse communities of color have been dealing with for generations, and has delivered a crushing blow to small businesses which have historically been a pathway to the American dream for new immigrants and people of color. We learned many hard and painful lessons this past year, and we must work together to champion an ambitious and progressive agenda aimed at Reform, Inclusion, Sustainability and Equity for a brighter future for San Francisco post-pandemic. Together we RISE.

What We Stand For:
- Healthcare for all
- Eviction moratoriums & foreclosure protections
- Green New Deal to fight climate change
- Ending homelessness & building affordable housing
- Universal child care, pre-K & higher education
- Opportunity for all through racial & economic justice
- Ending inequities facing women, LGBTQ+ & immigrant communities
- Protecting workers & strengthening unions
- Main Street, not Wall Street, by supporting small businesses & public banking
- Progressive criminal justice reform
- Getting money out of politics

Friends,

With all that is going on in the world, I just wanted to reach out and thank you. We came within 0.75% of winning with 19,573 votes. I appreciate your faith in me, and I carry with me a responsibility to continue on this path we have started together. I am driven by a conviction that to live a fulfilling life, we all have to use our time and passion to make as many lives as possible better than they are today. I am on a journey to make this vision a reality every day I am alive. Thank you for joining me.

In this time of uncertainty, let us lean on each other and extend what we can of ourselves to help our collective come out on the other side stronger and more united.

To my friends and family who celebrate the Spring Equinox and Iranian New Year, I wish you a year of health and happiness filled with love.

Stay safe and healthy. If I can be of any service, please email me at [email protected].

With love,
Nima Rahimi

Rising U.S.-Iran tensions raise peril for Iranian Americans here 08/01/2020

I wrote this column for the San Francisco Chronicle because I am afraid of what Trump will do — directly and indirectly — to harm Iranian Americans and our democracy. We cannot allow Trump to foster the hate and prejudice that tears our country apart. Iranian Americans are Americans. We will stand up for our shared values, and we join our immigrant brothers and sisters in fighting to protect all our civil rights.

Rising U.S.-Iran tensions raise peril for Iranian Americans here Aside from the risk of war that would eclipse the human and financial cost of the Iraq War, I am increasingly concerned about what will happen to Iranian Americans here in the United States.
