Last featured film from the top five finalists in the Youth Category is a film called “𝙋𝙝𝙮𝙠𝙤𝙨” from the University of the East-Caloocan (Silakbo Films). The film discusses the ingenious use of algae or more commonly known as “lumot” in battling pollution. Algae has various uses and one of which is its capacity to sequester large amounts of carbon dioxide. It has present and potential applications for medicine, energy, and can even counter plastic reliance. Could the humble “lumot” revolutionize our way of life? Let’s learn more from “Phykos.”
