Early voting is now through November 4th!
I was going to tell you that a vote for could be potentially lifesaving to you or your loved ones, but I heard from some random man in my DMs that it is very unladylike to tell people how to vote, so I thought, better keep that to myself. 😜
So get out and use your voice, friends. You can find more info, like early voting locations and hours, at votetexas.gov. 🇺🇸
There’s still time to snag tickets to Houston’s biggest taco fest! 🌮Tacolandia is tomorrow at Buffalo Bayou Park! 🙌🏻

Dark & Stormy with Ron Inmortal Colombian Rum
- 2 ounces Ron Inmortal Colombian Rum
- 8 ounces Ginger Beer (we used the zero sugar ginger beer)
Pour rum into highball glass over ice. Add ginger beer and stir.
Ron Inmortal is one of the smoothest dark rums I’ve ever tasted. While it’s normally not my favorite liquor, I’ve reached for it again and again.
To get your own bottle of 12-year rum, visit roninmortal.com.
I know it’s only 9 am but I’m already thinking about lunch. 👀 has my favorite quick frozen meals and this roasted veggie pizza is no exception! 😍 y’all give it a try and let me know what you think.
It’s been a busy season for me, so if you notice I’m posting and interacting less, that’s why! Wedding planning, premarital counseling, honeymoon planning, holiday travel, my bachelorette party, I’m in my friends wedding in February, just got promoted at my full time job, my part time job takes another 5-10 hours per week…all of that on top of four cats, a fiancé and a host of other relationships to keep track of, I’ve been falling short on Instagram for sure. I appreciate everyone’s grace during my busy season. Once this winter is over, I’ll be back at it in full swing. ❤️ until then, I’ll be posting sparingly, when I’ve got some extra minutes.
I recently added more nuts to my diet, and some of the best are these huge Texas pecans from . 😍 They’re family owned and based in Caldwell, TX. They have raw, salted and flavored pecans (the cinnapecans are my fave, they give me all the bucee’s nostalgia), as well as pecan oil, whose high smoke point lets you sauté, stir fry and brown meat without burning it. Pecans can help reduce bad cholesterol levels and high blood pressure, too!
Visit their Instagram to learn more or to place an order. 😊
is now open in Katy!
If y’all were following from the beginning, you know how much I love this Canadian coffee shop! I even begged them to open one here a couple of years ago and I’m so happy to report they finally listened 😂 They have the BEST donut holes and iced cappuccinos and y’all know I wouldn’t steer you wrong. 😍
They’re having a grand opening TOMORROW. The first 50 guests will win coffee for a year and there will be other giveaways and prizes, music, free samples and more! 🎉🎉

Roostar Vietnamese Grill has been on my list to try for the longest, so I’m so glad we got to try it a couple of months back. Y’all know I’m a sucker for Vietnamese food, and having this fast casual option is awesome. 👏🏻
You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but I’m partial to their chopped ribeye box with the cilantro cream sauce. 👀

One of my favorite restaurants in San Antonio’s Pearl District! is lively, beautiful and serves gorgeous drinks and food. I loved the oysters and fish. 😍
There’s nothing quite like a dark bar and fried food. But this Mac and cheese furter from gives their fried pickles a run for their money.
If you like beer and dogs, this spot is a must if you visit downtown Asheville. 😋🌭

I want to tell you all a story. And before I start, I want to say this is not a story that’s easy for me to tell and it’s not necessarily one I wanted all of you to know. But if it helps one woman not to feel alone, it‘ll be worth it. If it helps one person who thought “today’s ruling doesn’t affect me, who cares” to see the light and why it matters, it’ll be worth it.
Trigger Warning: S3xual Assault
During the summer of 2015, I was a junior in college. And like most college students, I was using dating apps as a way to meet people. I talked to a man, we’ll call him J, a senior education (yes education) major, for a little over two months before I agreed to meet him in person.
J took me out, we had an okay time, nothing really seemed off. But when he dropped me off at the home I was renting, it was like a flip switched. The 6’3” man that had been a gentle giant for the past two months, serenading me with Josh Turner and paying me every compliment I ever wanted to hear, was suddenly a monster forcing his way through my front door, shoving me to the ground and climbing on top of me right there in the foyer. He pinned down my wrists as he assaulted me. I’ve done my best to block out visceral memories but I can still remember the taste of salt from my tears as I laid there, helpless. Too small, too weak and too ashamed.
Three weeks later, I still hadn’t gotten my period. It was past due. The wake of my assault and the mere thought of my rap1st’s baby inside of me caused insomnia, panic attacks and depression. I can’t even begin to imagine how being forced by the Land of the Free to carry his baby to term would have derailed my life. One that had already been derailed by his complete disregard for my humanity and personhood.
Fortunately, a couple of days later my period came. And I cried for hours in relief.
I tell you this story not because anyone needs a reason to get an abortion. Abortion is a human right. Just because some overly conservative justices, at least one of whom has a lot in common with J himself, have removed it as a legal right, doesn’t change that. I tell you this to encourage you to keep fighting. We have power. We can’t forget that.
I tried it y’all and now I’m scared I won’t ever be able to go back. why must you make everything limited edition so delicious 🥺
The is SO refreshing, and is a summer infused mixer. After one sip I knew I’d be getting another one this weekend to put a shot or two of Malibu in. 🤩 run, don’t walk, okay besties?

Holy ! This smoother cousin to kombucha is now available at stores in the Southwest! 👏🏻
While I love kombucha, I’m not always up for the acidity. Thankfully, has these bubbly tonics that come packed with the same probiotics and prebiotic plant fiber. And they’re gluten free! 🙌🏻
I loved trying all these flavors but have to say, the majestic pineapple is my fave. 🍍😍 which flavor would you try first?
The weekend is almost here and I’m celebrating early with a new spritz recipe! I’ve recently ventured my way into the lighter, more aromatic style cocktails, and now I’ll never go back. 🙌🏻
This spritz is simply equal parts Prosecco and , topped with club soda and an orange slice. I serve it in a wine glass over a single ice cube and it truly feels like drinking summer from a glass. ☀️
Mount Rigi, a new aperitif liqueur, is one of the many incredible unique craft spirits you can find on Curiada.com . It’s refreshing and smooth, perfect for your summer spritzers! 😋

I’m gearing up for another weekend of travel—this time to LA/Disneyland.
The busyness of this season has been dreaming of the days when I could visit a local shop and leisurely enjoy a tea and take my work as it came. Anyone else swamped lately? 🥵
All I know is, I could go for a Thai tea right about now.

Still dreaming over this prickly beauty of a birthday cake done by Take The Cake] 🤩
They’ve made my birthday cake the last two years in a row and I plan on bringing them business for many years to come. 🎂 Their cakes are flavorful but not too sweet and are always decorated beautifully. 🌸

W***y Burger] makes each order from scratch, and you can tell that you’re eating a fresh, homemade diner burger. They have the classics as well as fun twists. I got the Huck Finn, and it came with slices of fresh green apple, crispy bacon, feta cheese, fresh leaf spinach, sriracha mayo and a blackberry reduction. That baby was messy but she was worth it! 🍔😍

If you’ve been here awhile, you know I love eating happy at Mendo! I was fortunate enough to try this new location at their soft opening, and y’all. This is a game changer for downtown. 👏🏻 This spot truly is the perfect place for things like:
client lunches ✔️

an after-work meal with coworkers ✔️
This go around I sampled their steak and chimichurri sandwich, the chicken cobb salad, and the smoked elote bowl. All three were superb, as were the sides, but you gotta get that chicken Cobb now before it leaves the menu forever! 🥹🥗
Double tap if you can’t wait to try it out!

Waiting for Alex to bring dinner home and am reminiscing on these loaded platters we got from last week. 🥙
They’re one of my favorite gyro spots in Houston. Their meats just pack flavor that a lot of other places are missing, so they’re def worth the drive down 99 to Richmond. 👏🏻
