MASTERPIECE NO. 11-Denim Tote Bag

Every piece of clothing we have has a complex manufacturing process that consumes a lot of energy. Because clothes are made of various materials, when they end up in a landfill, the materials require oxygen to break down. As a result, this may lead to decomposition, the production of microorganisms, and the release of toxic air, all of which may harm the environment.

There are several things we can do with our old clothes, including recycling, reusing, and donating them. We should all be wise buyers and dispose responsibly. This might not only save money but also save the environment.

MATERIALS USED:
-Old denim pants
-Beads
-needle & thread
-Scissors

MASTERPIECE NO. 10- SUNBURST MIRROR

Whether you have an old mirror that’s seen better days or need to dispose of a recently broken mirror, you may have found yourself wondering: can I recycle this? The answer isn’t as straightforward as you may think. As far as traditional recycling goes, the answer is unfortunately no. Unlike glass bottles or jars, which can be recycled in most areas, the type of glass used to make mirrors, coupled with the reflective coating on the back, makes it unable to be recycled. In fact, even if the reflective coating could be removed, mirror glass still can’t be recycled. The reason lies in the actual recycling process. With glass, this means crushing it into small pieces and melting it down. Since mirror glass and bottle glass have different melting points, recycling centers can’t accommodate mirror glass. So, while you may have had great environmental intentions to send your broken mirror to a recycling center, we regret to tell you that isn’t possible.
But wait! That doesn’t mean your only other option is throwing away the pieces. In addition to all of the crafty repurposing ideas we shared in this post.

SUNBURST MIRROR MATERIALS:
- Broken mirror
- Used Skewers
- Glue Gun and Glue Stick
- Paint

MASTERPIECE NO. 9 - Dream Catcher

We used to buy CDs for us to watch and listen our favourites music and videos however, now that listening to music and watching videos has now shifted to online streaming, our old CDs are left untouched.

CD is made of polycarbonate plastic. Disposing a CD is estimated to take more than 1 million years to completely decompose in a landfill. Also, if a CD is burned, it will release harmful chemicals such as hydrochloric acid and sulfur dioxide in the air that can affect our environment and one’s health. (Treehugger,2022). Hence, it is important to know how can we recycle and repurpose old cds. Old CDs can also be donated to a music store for reuse.

MATERIALS USED:
-Old /Used CDs
-Acrylic paint
-Beads
-Nylon String
-Feather (optional)

MASTERPIECE NO. 8 - CAN LANTERN

One of the environmental challenge is the effects of aluminium cans waste around the world because aluminium cans smelting emits greenhouse gases and toxins including carbon dioxide, fluoride, sulphur dioxide, dust, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, and toxic effluents.
As you have probably noticed, turning Bauxite into Aluminum requires a lot of energy and has a variety of environmental impacts.

Collecting your cans for recycling is an important step you can take to help the environment. Recycling aluminum cans saves a considerable amount of energy; it also reduces carbon dioxide emissions and the amount of waste headed into landfills.
Like recycling cans and turning it into new product like 'CAN LANTERN" gives a lot of help.

MATERIALS USED:

Waste Cans
Paint
Wire bulb
Cord(rope)

And no matter what, remember to always recycle Aluminium cans!

MASTERPIECE NO. 7 - SCRUNCHIES

The clothing industry and its products affect the environment in a big way. Most used clothing ends up in landfill, and a lot of that gets incinerated. This results in the industry wasting even more energy and water. Given that textiles also contribute a lot to greenhouse gas emissions, it’s important to take steps towards textile recycling and to improve all the practices that go along with it. For this and many other reasons, recycling textiles can help save the environment and establish a circular economy that will save money.

MATERIALS USED:
- Excess Fabric from Tailor's Shop / to be thrown away clothes

Hi Good day!

Recycling is important in today’s world if we want to leave this planet for our future generations. It is good for the environment since we are making new products from the old products which are of no use to us. Recycling begins at home. If you are not throwing away any of your old products and instead utilizing it for something new, then you are actually recycling.
When you think of recycling, you should really think about the whole idea; reduce, reuse and recycle. We’ve been careless up to this point with the way we’ve treated the Earth, and it’s time to change, not just the way we do things but the way we think.

Here are some infographics that helps to be knowlegable on waste recycling concerns, specially guide and impact us to the importance of recycling.

‼ P L E A S E T A K E T I M E T O R E A D ‼

NASA scientists are now getting arr #$TEd and getting desperate. We need to save the earth now!!! According to them, we only have 4-5 years. LET THE EARTH BREATH.

Climate scientists and activists take huge risks every day, as so many powerful entities are prepared to do anything to keep the public from knowing the truth about climate change. and last week, a number of climate scientists were arrested for staging a protest of big banks, including Dr. Peter Kalmus, a NASA scientist.

“i am here because scientists are not being listened to. i am willing to take a risk for this gorgeous planet, and for my sons. and we've been trying to warn you guys for so many decades that we're heading towards a fcking catastrophe, and we've been being ignored. the scientists of the world are being ignored, and it's got to stop. we're gonna lose everything, and we're not joking. we're not lying. we're not exaggerating. this is so bad, everyone, that we're willing to take this risk, this is for all of the kids of the world, all the young people, all the future people … this is so much bigger than any of us. it's time for all of us to stand up and take risks and make sacrifices for this beautiful planet that gives us life.”

Enough of the unimportant "teas" and listen to these people. Some of you may think this is not a serious matter, but it is. They have been warning us but we, as well as the Government, have just disregarded them. We must act NOW. SPREAD AWARENESS.

Hi! Good day!

Waste management is an important element of environmental protection. Its purpose is to provide hygienic, efficient and economic solid waste storage, collection, transportation and treatment or disposal of waste without polluting the atmosphere, soil or water system.

The best way of dealing with waste, both economically and environmentally, is to avoid creating it in the first place. For effective waste management, waste minimization, reuse, recycle, seperating waste and collection services are more sustainable than conventional landfill or dumpsite disposal technique.

Here are some infographics that helps to be knowlegable on waste management concerns, specially guide us for effective Waste Management Process

MASTERPIECE NO. 6
CANDLE HOLDER

Some estimates put the number of individual plastic utensils wasted at 40 billion per year. After just one single use, most of them are thrown out and end up in landfills and in our waterways.
Plastic recycling is very important and must be taken seriously. Plastics make up a huge amount of solid waste and take centuries to break down in landfill or the ocean. Therefore, all plastic waste such bottles, plastic bags, and plastic utinsils like spoons should be recycled.
Just recycling it to candle holder using recycled plastic spoons!
To reduce landfills, clean waterways conserve energy and conserve the environment.

MASTERPIECE NO. 4 - LAMP WITH PHONE HOLDER

As a nation, we are becoming increasingly aware of the damaging impact we are having on our environment. Today, more and more people are making a conscious effort to recycle their waste. While we are all aware of the benefits of recycling typical household materials such as glass, plastics, metals and paper, many people do not realize the importance of recycling wood waste too. By recycling wood, you are preserving natural resources and, again, helping the environment. When you tip or burn your wood waste it is removed from the ‘life cycle’ of trees; because of this, more trees will need to be chopped down to supply the constant worldwide demand for wood. The planet would be greener and healthier if everyone recycled all of their wood waste.

Materials used:
- Craft woods
- Wood Glue
- Electrical Wire
- Small Light bulb and light bulb socket
- Abaca rope

MASTERPIECE NO. 1 - HANDMADE PAPERS

Recycling paper helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that can contribute to climate change. It takes 70% less energy and water to recycle paper than to create new paper from trees. Manufacturing with recovered paper cuts down on pollution that contributes to smog (and ill health). If all of us can develop the habit of putting our trash or waste in the recycle bin, we would be hitting two birds with one stone because aside from recycling the waste paper into a new paper, we will also be able to help save our environment from the problems brought about by garbage.

HANDMADE PAPERS CAN BE USED FOR:
- Scrapbook
- Journal
- Writing
- Painting/Drawing
- Paper Bags
- Paper Boards
- Notebooks
- Calendars

MATERIALS USED (HANDMADE PAPERS)
