IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!!!
Time for the Public Administrator’s Office annual Christmas blessings. Most of the individuals served by my office are low-income, residing in facilities, and have no family. I am asking the residents of Barton County to donate as they are able to give my Wards a Merry Christmas. If you are interested in donating to a specific request, please contact me. Otherwise, certain items, such as movies, games, puzzles, coloring books, puzzle books, and simple craft kits make great gifts. Gift cards to restaurants, Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree and Dollar General are also great gifts and easy to mail (if needed). Plaza Theater gift certificates would be great for my local people. I also have a few individuals who have PlayStations and like PlayStation gift cards and a few in need of AT&T phone cards. Thanks for your help!
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND MANY CHRISTMAS
BLESSINGS.
Per the Barton County Commissioners the Court House will be CLOSED tomorrow Thursday Feb 24th due to inclement weather, please stay home and stay Safe. oem!
Today is the day! At 10:00 a.m. I will be sworn in as Barton County Public Administrator. I am super excited for this next chapter in my life and pray that I am a blessing to those I serve.
The retiring Public Administrator has spent many hours teaching and training me. I know that she will be a tough act to follow, but pray I make Barton County proud.
Thank you to all those who have supported me and voted for me!
If signs are missing tonight it’s because James and I have been working to pick them up. Sorry if I haven’t got to some of you yet. Thanks so much for use of yards, for votes and all the support and encouraging words. I hope and pray I serve Barton County well as your next public administrator.
Please remember to vote!

It looks like I have several signs missing around Lamar. I would offer to replace, but I don’t have anymore. Please let me know if your signs are missing so that I can cross you off my pick up list.
Most of my family at Isabella’s first college graduation. Just missing Eric and Andy.
Below is my short speech for the Republican Forum. I am not a public speaker and am so happy that is over with :-)
Good evening residents of Barton County. My name is Julie Hagen. After prayerful consideration and visits with our current Public Administrator, I am excited to be running for the Office of the Barton County Public Administrator. I have been happy to call Lamar home for the past 25 years. I have raised my four amazing children here. I have two beautiful daughters and two handsome sons. My three oldest kids have graduated Lamar High School and went on to college, and my youngest son will be a sophomore this fall. I have also been blessed with two adorable grandchildren.
The Office of the Public Administrator must have a high degree of service, trust, discretion and confidentiality. As Public Administrator, I will work and dedicate my efforts in a compassionate, professional and efficient manner toward supporting the individuals served by this position. I want to be their advocate. I will exercise good judgment and loyalty when making decisions for those in my care. I understand the importance and the demanding responsibilities of this position.
After several years as a stay-at-home mother and childcare provider, I began my professional career at Nichols & Nichols, Attorneys in 2005. As a legal assistant to Mr. George Nichols for 15 years, I have gained the experience, credentials, and work ethics that will serve me well in this position. I have a strong knowledge of the probate court system and procedures. While working for Mr. Nichols, I decided to further my education at Missouri Southern State University. In December 2012, I received my Associates of Science in Law Enforcement and in May 2016, I received my Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice Administration, with a minor in paralegal studies.
I have the desire and willingness to serve this great community I have been happy to call home for 25 years. As your Public Administrator, I will provide the citizens of Barton County with friendly, prompt, and exceptional services. I would appreciate your vote August 4.
The election is in 14 days!
I had someone ask me how I will handle being on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week if elected to be Public Administrator, and my answer was that as a mom of 4, I’ve been on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week for the past 26+ years ( my kids are 26, 22, 21 and 15).
