The Quota Club opened their Festival of Trees event this evening with 40 trees from local businesses. This is my first year participating in the charitable event. Here is my tree along with a few other beautiful trees. You can buy your tickets for chances to win a tree at the Estes park resort near the Dunraven.

Such a fun day! These two came from Argentina and Italy for a wedding. Beautiful people.
Lisa Brechtel Devine came all the way up from the valley on her day off to help me with panicking bridal families who had appointments that were cancelled on them. It was a full house and fun meeting people from different parts of the country.
Beautiful client with a new transformation! Full foil with current color, natural base. Added lightener and J Bev. Colour for dimension. Glossed to clients desired shade.

Fun Fact: Did you know that studies have shown that an hour long massage restores your body the same as 7-8 hours of sleep? If you're feeling run down, it might mean your body is asking for a massage!
Susanne will be at Salon Margaux tomorrow from 11:00-1:00!
This makes me so happy!
These are the ingredients that go into the hair colour that I use! ❤️ Now that is what I call a healing hair color!

My thoughts on the last couple of days, and a look ahead......
1. I'm exhausted. Wildfire coverage is my absolute least favorite thing to do. It requires my complete and undivided attention, and sucks the energy out of me, but I do it for you.
There are lives that depend on it. I take it seriously. I don't do this for money. If wasn't for the amazing and selfless support of local business sponsors, this would be strictly volunteer for me, and I certainly wouldn't be able to do it continuously if I had another full time job.
2. The awful wind has been forecasted by me for days now, as well as the National Weather Service.I knew this was coming. I blasted the horn, yet so many people are either uninformed or misinformed.
I don't get it. It's 2023 and we seem to be going backwards. Why? Is it something I'm doing wrong? Are people just too lazy to look for information? I'm seriously puzzled.
The fact that Facebook's ridiculously stupid algorithm doesn't reach nearly as many of you as it should is part of an ongoing battle I've fought since day 1 as well.
3. Despite the great water year for the mountains, there are many others who haven't been as fortunate. All it takes is one bad wind storm (in this case, two consecutive days) and a downed power line, a cigarette butt, a welder, chains dragging, or a damn BBQ to spark a fire, and guess what? We had ALL OF THOSE in the last 48 hours. I mean, really??? Are we that f**king stupid?
Okay, I'm off my soap box now.
4. Lets look ahead:
- The weekend is warm and relatively calmer (kind of). Critical fire danger will continue for the southern half of Colorado through at least Saturday as southerly winds kick up ahead of our next storm system.
Winds in the foothills, along the continental divide, and in Wyoming will continue to crank.
Late Monday, and into Tuesday, a powerful late season storm will impact our region.
At this point, it appears snow will impact the mountains, Wyoming, and Nebraska.
We may get some snow showers with the cold front here in Colorado, but right now it's looking like another wind event. If the storm deviates in the current track and moves just a little bit farther to the south, then we could be talking about higher impacts from snow. Please watch for my updates as we get closer.
A cool, breezy, and active weather pattern for next week as a post frontal upslope regime sets up along the Front Range and eastern plains. We could be talking about several rounds of rain/snow and could even see snow on opening day for the Rockies on Thursday. It's not certainty, but it is possibility!
I don't ask a lot of my followers but tonight, I'm going to challenge you to do a few things:
- I don't care how much you hate social media. I don't care what kind of qualms you have with who/what/when/where/why. I don't care. These are the platforms I use. I sacrifice a lot of time, and energy to push out information to you. If you REALLY care about being informed, you know where to get my information. A simple like, share, or comment goes a LONG LONG WAYS, and it doesn't cost you anything.
- Make sure you've followed the page if you haven't already.
- If I forecast inclement weather, and it has the potential to bring significant impacts, I need your guys help spreading information. I will ALWAYS do my part, and despite how difficult it might be for me to battle technology, the power is in your hands to make a difference, and you've demonstrated it so many times before.
- Get in the habit of looking on my page for information rather than relying on it to populate in your newsfeed by random chance. Today was a perfect example of that. I was posting like a maniac every 30 minutes. By the 10th post, people were just hopping on Facebook for the first time and were clueless as to what was going on. Not that there's a problem with that, and I know you lead busy lives, but you need to look at this from my perspective.
It is never the lack of resources. It is the lack of being resourceful.
Something to think about.
