A very short story bout how the Liberian Flag was created.

During the dry season of 1847, citizens of the three existing counties of Liberia 🇱🇷 ( Montserrado, Grand Bassa and Sinoe),
Sent representatives to Monrovia to forge a national constitution and a Declaration of Independence from the American Colonization Society. These representatives on this constitutional committee were all men and emigrants of the United States of America 🇺🇸 led by governor Joseph Jenkins Roberts (1809-1876) who would, later on, become the first President of Liberia 🇱🇷. He ( governor Roberts) invited few prominent women to the statehouse in Monrovia and assigned to them the special historical task of creating a flag that will symbolize hope for our new Nation.
On this appointed committee were seven black women all American 🇺🇸 born.

This Unity represents religious and cultural togetherness, respect for fundamental human rights, female empowerment as shown in pictures here in 1847, education, and skills training for all.

Master Queen Writes:

“When I lost my parents at age five I moved to my sister..At age 17, I left my oldest sister Ella’s home to live on my own inorder to EXPERIENCE life. Between paying rent and paying my school fees at Monrovia college It wasn’t easy. My second year in my one room apartment on Benson street, one early morning while getting ready for school, I heard a knock. When I opened the door, I met three sheriffs with a warrant inviting me to West Point court because I was owed my land lady six months rent and she got tired with me appealing everyday (I know ). Yep! We got to the court I was asked if I had anyone to bill me out? I said no! So I was detained for eight hours on that bench all because I refused to call my family for help. (BECAUSE I WANTED TO EXPERIENCE LIFE ON MY OWN) and I’m glad I did.

After that day, I mean after that humiliation, I cried bitterly and because of that situation I made a decision that it won’t ever happen again!!!

My darling sister who is reading this, yes It’s okay to leave but be ready for the storming weather and when it comes remember why you left and fight harder”🙏🏾🖤
